Rafa met with the manufacturer of his yacht. The man pictured far right is the owner and CEO of Sunreef Yachts (Francis Lapp), the manufacturer of Rafa's yacht.
The man pictured next to Rafa is Nico Rosberg, a German-Finnish former race car driver, who won the 2016 Formula One World Championship. Both are Sunreef Yachts' ambassadors.

This week

Rafa stayed at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort during this week's Monaco Yacht Show.

The hotel says on Instagram: ¤¤ Among the notables staying at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort this week is tennis champion Rafael Nadal - pictured here with HRH Prince Albert II and Rafa’s wife Xisca Perello. Rafa actually has his own suite at the hotel. Suite 1029 was named after him in 2018 in honor of his amazing career and 10 victories at the Rolex Masters at the Monte Carlo Tennis Club. The suite includes memorabilia from Rafa’s career, including a tennis racquet, shirt, shoes and photos of his 10 titles at the Monte-Carlo Country Club. ¤¤

In September last year, Rafa's sports centre founded the Rafa Nadal Club within the sports centre. It's a recreational multi-sport club (fitness, tennis, padel and swimming) for all age groups. The club has been well received by the local people.

Pau Gasol is a Spanish pro basketball player, who has played for many NBA teams since 2001 and also for the Spanish national basketball team since 2001. He has played for Spain in five straight Olympic Games, the 2020 Tokyo among them. After the Tokyo Olympics, he announced his retirement from international basketball.
Rafa and P.Gasol have been friends since they met for the first time at a Nike event in Barcelona, when Rafa was 16 -17 years old. In 2018, P.Gasol said he had watched 8 of 11 Rafa's FO final matches from the stands. In June 2018, P.Gasol attended the graduation ceremony of the Rafa Nadal International School (then called the American International School). The school is situated within Rafa's academy and allows young athletes to combine tennis and studies. In March 2020, Rafa and Paul Gasol launched the #NuestraMejorVictoria (or #CruzRojaResponde) campaign with the aim of raising funds to fight the pandemic in Spain. The goal was to raise 11 million euros, they surpassed that goal by raising over 14 million euros.

Rafa Nadal Foundation

The Nadal Educational Tennis School (NETS) in Anantapur, India, has reopened after the pandemic lockdown.

The NETS offers tennis, computer and English classes to around 250 boys and girls.

The school was founded and has been funded by Rafa's foundation. Rafa inaugurated the school (that was called the Educational & Sports School then) in October 2010.

Rafa played golf today. He was a member of his academy's team that played against the T Golf & Country Club team.
His uncle Rafael Nadal also belonged to the academy team, but his another uncle, Miguel Angel Nadal (a former pro footballer), needs to take some golf lessons from Rafa.

The Rafa Nadal Club, the recreational multi-sport club (fitness, tennis, padel and swimming) within the sports centre, will host the final tournament of the II Paddle [or padel] Solidarity Circuit of the Real Madrid Foundation from October 1 - 3. The money raised from the Circuit will go to the Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sporting projects.

Award

On 2nd October every year, Spain celebrates 'Dia de Los Santos Angeles Custodios', the day of the patron saint of the Spanish National Police.
On the occasion of that day, police personnel and members of civil society were recognized with awards from the national police.
Rafa was awarded the Medal of Police Merit with white badge (Mérito Policial con Distintivo Blanco). He attended the award ceremony in Palma, the capital of Mallorca.

The club hosted the 2021 ATP Mallorca Open, a grass court tournament, in June. The club has a 17-18-year history, but it was closed at the end of 2019 for renovation and was officially reopened this week. The club was renamed as "The New Country Club Santa Ponsa Mallorca" this spring, but its current name seems to be "Mallorca Country Club."
There were no grass courts in Mallorca before 2016. The country club in Santa Ponsa opened their new grass courts in spring 2016 and hosted Spain’s first grass court tournament, the WTA Mallorca Open, in June of the same year. The WTA tournament was replaced with the ATP Mallorca Open in 2020, but the latter was cancelled due to the pandemic. The ATP Mallorca Open was held for the first time in 2021, by then the club was partly renovated.
Toni Nadal has been the tournament director since the club started to host grass court tournaments in 2016.
Rafa has practiced on the grass courts of the club ahead of Wimbledon every year since 2017. He was also supposed to practice there in 2016, but due to his wrist injury he only visited the venue. The club is located 80 km/50 miles away from Rafa's hometown of Manacor.

Rafa - a Businessman

Mabel Capital, the investment company owned by two Spanish businessmen and Rafa (33%), bought 50,000 square meters of land in Marbella, Spain, to build luxury single-family villas on. The land is situated next to the estate of the Abu Dhabi royal family.

Based on the General Urban Plan of Marbella, Mabel Capital could divide the land into 50 parts of 1,000 square metres and build 50 houses, as that number of square metres is the minimum buildable area. However, Mabel's intention is to build a smaller number of units to enhance the exclusivity of the prospective properties.

The investment company has already had a 40,000 square metre plot of land on the beachfront in Estepona (located 25 kilometers or 16 miles from Marbella) for several years. On this plot, Mabel plans to build villas and apartments, once the new General Urban Plan of the municipality is approved.

Mabel Real Estate is a subsidiary of Mabel Capital.
