According to the Tennis Warehouse website, Nike clothes with the Rafa academy logo are Nike products.

Secondly, if the academy has printed something on clothes bearing a Nike trademark, I’m sure that the academy has a contract with Nike allowing to do this.

According to the Tennis Warehouse website, Nike clothes with the Rafa academy logo are Nike products.

Since those clothes feature the Nike branding, of course, it can be said these are Nike products but that's not what I commented about.

You wrote Nike has launched. Nike didn't do anything except manufacturing and providing the items to be printed upon, and they didn't do those products specifically for the Academy. Nike didn't prepare the design either. The end product didn't go through Nike multiple rounds of quality control. It wasn't commissioned for production at their factories. It isn't marketed by Nike. The entire screen-priting customization is an in-house process at the Academy in a similar way t-shirt print shops do that.

Nike recently launched the IT ONLY TAKES EVERYTHING retirement tee while The Academy launched the Gracias Rafa line of apparel.

The main point is: Rafa’s academy has had a good business relationship with Nike since opening the academy in 2016 and I think that they'll continue to collaborate. (As for Rafa himself, the Nike website says that he has “worked closely with Nike product teams over the course of his career”.)

Relaxing Time

This past Friday, Rafa travelled to Bilbao, a city in northern Spain. It’s the capital city of the province of Biscay in the Basque Country, one of Spain's 17 autonomous communities. He spent time in a bar (Satai) and restaurant (Asador Etxebarri), accompanied by his wife and a large group of friends (a total of 17 people), among them several his closest friends from Mallorca.

EL CORREO, 30 Nov. 2024:
(Translated from Spanish via Google.)

¤¤ Snacks, coctails and a steak: this was Rafa Nadal's brief getaway to Bilbao after his retirement

The tennis legend visited the capital of Biscay [= Bilbao] this Friday accompanied by his wife and close friends from his native Mallorca.

Just two weeks ago, Rafa Nadal put an end to a brilliant professional stage that has made him the best Spanish sportsman of all time. The unique tennis player said goodbye definitively in a somewhat more bitter way than expected after losing in the Davis Cup. In this short period of time, the Balearic [Mallorca is part of the Balearic island group] tennis player has focused on resting, assimilating the change that awaits him in his life and enjoying his loved ones like never before.

But he has also taken advantage of the opportunity to enjoy his free time and go on a getaway, such as the one that brought him to Bilbao. After his farewell to the courts, the tennis legend has visited the capital of Biscay and has been seen in one of the city's most popular drinking areas, where his presence raised great expectations.

Nadal travelled to the capital of Biscay on Friday on a direct flight. He did so accompanied by several of his closest friends and his wife Xisca Perelló. On this occasion, the couple's only son, Rafa Junior, stayed at home. In total, 17 people turned up at one of the city's most traditional bars, Satai, in Plaza Campuzano, well known for its gildas. [A gilda is a typical snack served with drinks at bars in the Basque Country.]

As Ander, the owner of the establishment, told EL CORREO, some of Nadal's friends frequently visit the city for work reasons and when they do, they never miss their appointment with Satai. That is why Ander maintains a close relationship with them. "They come a lot, every year they win the Christmas lottery," he says. He had not met the now ex-tennis player from Mallorca, but this Friday he finally did. "They had been telling me for many years that they were going to bring him to the bar and now that he has retired, they have done so," says the owner excitedly.

Great expectation

Nadal, his wife and his large group of friends sat at several tables in the establishment and tried the famous gildas, that typical Bilbao delicacy that is so popular. “Friends were always telling him that they are the best in Bilbao,” says Ander, amused. And there was also time to have a few kendalls, the cocktail that owes its name to the emblematic Athletic trainer Howard Kendall. At the end of the 80s, he started ordering this combination made of gin, fresh orange juice and orange schweppes in Lezama and it ended up spreading throughout the city.

They all took them. “Rafa did too and he loved it.” Between drinks, he also had time to attend to his admirers. His presence at the Satai reached the ears of those who were in the area and many did not hesitate to ask him for a photo. And he was very attentive to everyone. “He is a very natural person, he is very nice.”

But the visit to Bilbao gave rise to more. Rafa and his wife's gang treated themselves to a feast at Asador Etxebarri [restaurant]. The Axpe establishment, one of the Biscayan restaurants awarded with a Michelin Star, welcomed an exceptional diner, offering him its famous tasting menu. It costs 280 euros - without drinks - and includes vegetables, fish, seafood and steak that Bittor Arginzoniz prepares on the grill.¤¤

Today, UAX posted an article about its event titled “Rafa Nadal: Beyond Tennis” held in Madrid yesterday (Translated from Spanish via Google.):

¤¤ Rafa Nadal presents the keys and values to be successful in the sports industry

Rafa Nadal met with students at the UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sport where he once again showed his commitment to educational excellence. Recently retired from professional tennis, he visited the UAX Madrid Chamberí campus [UAX’s campus located in Madrid's Chamberi district] to participate in the event titled “Rafa Nadal: Beyond Tennis”, an event that served as inspiration for future professionals who are opting for specialized education to boost their development and growth in three areas of the sports industry: sport, health and business.

In the interview conducted by presenter Susana Guasch, Rafa Nadal highlighted the importance of cultivating leadership based on values such as the ability to constantly improve, resilience, as well as trust in the team. These values are essential to succeed not only in the sporting sphere of competitions, but in all professional aspects of the sports industry. “I don't think there is a single recipe, but there are things that help, such as having good training, surrounding yourself with people who have a positive impact on life, as well as determination, perseverance, having the humility to listen and wanting to continue learning from people with more experience. And, obviously, discipline and the ability to work,” he pointed out.

Rafa inspired students with his unbeatable drive and motivation, which has led him to become the World No.1 on several occasions. He did so in front of the forum made up of the university's teaching staff and more than a hundred master’s students on the MBA in Sports Management, the Master's in Sports Communication, the Master's in Sports Performance & Health and the Master's in Sports Physiotherapy programs taught at UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sport, the pioneering project Rafa himself developed together with his team and the Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX). Recognized by the IOC as a Center for Olympic Studies and Research (CEIO), the university has positioned itself as an international educational benchmark in the training of professionals, promoting a multi-sport model in the three areas of driving knowledge of the sports industry: sport, health and business.

The crucial role of technologies

During the meeting, Rafa Nadal also highlighted the role that technology plays in sport, health and business, both for the complete experience it offers to the spectators and for the performance of athletes' careers. “Technology changes sport. In my case, I grew up with very little technology, but it has had a huge evolution in the sports world. Today, you can get information about all your rivals, which makes the game evolve. Although I have continued to trust my feelings, because of my way of understanding tennis, because of the way I enjoy it, in a much deeper way,” he pointed out.

In the interview, in which students were able to ask the tennis player questions, Rafa Nadal highlighted his commitment to quality education and its importance in promoting a professional career in the sports industry, which is undergoing a period of complete transformation. A mission promoted by UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sport: “I have always believed that education and sport go together. Our future is in the hands of the evolution of the sports industry and technology. We have to be good enough and visionary enough to anticipate what the industry is going to demand. And I am convinced that we have a team in the project prepared to adapt to these new needs,” he said.

Connecting with industry for employability

With this meeting, the students at UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sports were able to learn from the athlete the keys and values to boost their professional career. “The constantly evolving sports industry requires quality training adapted to the talent needs required at all times and in all areas. A mission that we cultivate at UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sport, covering all key areas in all sports and the involvement of companies, technology and professionals to enhance the learning and future employability of our students,” explains Miguel Palencia, Director of UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sport.
An objective that is materialized thanks to the participation of students in real internships with relevant companies in the sports industry, such as those who recently had the experience of collaborating in the organization of a major sporting event such as the Davis Cup and soon the Hexagon Cup [padel].¤¤
