King Rafa will return to New York in vintage style to attempt his 3rd title there. A feat the minions never thought would happen once

Rafa will wear sleeveless shirts at the US Open next year. I hope it's just for one tournament. :?

I hope it's a joke. I was happy when he got rid of those vulgar shirts. Why would he start to wear them again at 28? He's not a teenager anymore. :???:

Why is sleeveless vulgar? Do you know the meaning of vulgar?

Whatever Rafa wants to wear is OK by me, as long as he keeps winning he can wear what he likes especially as he looks good in everything.

Do they really decide this kind of thing so far ahead?.

Rafa's said sleeveless are more comfortable, more freedom of movement, so I'm not sure why he ever stopped wearing them.

There was an interview on Nadal about why he changed his 'teenage persona'.

Basically, NIKE couldn't profit from his 3/4 pants and sleeveless shirts.

Here is an excerpt from an article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1200180/Rafael-Nadal-talks-fashion-avoids-gym.html

I used to wear sleeveless T-shirts all the time on court, but now I’ve got a brand new look – I’ve moved on to polo shirts. Sleeveless T-shirts give you real freedom of movement and they keep you cooler in matches, but I just thought it was time for a change.

This one is from 2008. Obviously, he doesn't wear polo shirts anymore. I liked that style too..

Probably a "brilliant" marketing idea from Nike. You can already see it generates a lot of talk.

Well, everyone has an opinion, and I have the right to think that it's not very distinguished, at least on a grown up man.
But I agree with you: being competitive is the most important thing.

The photos were posted in this thread but then they were deleted because the mods do not allow pics of clothes that haven't yet been released.
But they were copied and you can find them on twitter or M T F.

I'm surprised they'd decide on that so far ahead.

About the sleeveless, I'd think it was probably the pants that nike had more trouble selling, not the sleeveless.

DETAILS: How do you come up with new outfits for your matches?

ROGER FEDERER: I'm very involved with Nike. We have 12 outfits a year. They keep me changing all the time. It becomes very challenging; we discuss it a lot. We plan, believe it or not, up to one and a half years in advance. It's all on paper at first. We talk about the colors, where and what, and how to do it.

I have 1 regular guy who clicks the dislike button on every video ;) ... sometimes they're 2.

Here is my very first Rafa Tribute Video. I'm still a beginner so don't expect something great, but hopefully the next ones will be better. There's nothing from Roland Garros because of copyright.

Nice tribute man, a lot of work and thought put into it I'm sure.

You really don't realise it until you start making them yourself...

hey are you aware that this isn't available on mobile?
You should be able to view this other version on a mobile phone but Rihana's voice is distorted (only solution to skip the audio copyright detection) : http://youtu.be/h6vhTzX-0S4

Thanks :) Yes it takes a lot of time but it doesn't count when you like the player ;) Plus getting positive feedback and growing views give motivation ;)

Awesome video!
Loved the explosion on the FH in USO clip. And the ending where all the trophies are shown while focusing on the YEN1 trophy from bottom to top was spectacular! :D

Thank you man!

Rafa visited yesterday the 'MAPFRE' medical clinic in Barcelona. Dr Cotorro talks about knees and the future of Rafael Nadal in his interview for Ser Deportivos Baleares (Radio Mallorca)
http://rafanadal-kingoftennis.ru/ne...tivos_baleares_radio_mallorca/2013-12-04-2041
We are pleased with the evolution of Rafa's knee. We didn't know how it will go at the start of the year & has held up.
Rafa Nadal has finished the year in better conditions for the knee than how it started this year.
As each year goes by, we have to dose the competition & the favorable situations cos the years take its toll.
We have to try for him to play the majority of the matches on his surface & he chooses the best for him, he has to keep it.
No one was thinking he will have this season. He has no limits & he surprises us each day.
Nadal marks a stage in tennis. He is exceptional and he surprises us (the ones that we are with him) each day.
There are players that you know they will recover & Nadal is one of them. He makes things easier & he's a safe bet.
Nadal is willing to outdo himself and he puts everything from his part.
The injuries are part of his life & what he needs to do is be prepared & work in prevention. That's how he became no 1.
There are players exposed to the highest pressure and we hope that with the work he does he can extend his career.
The calendar for the next year it's similar to this year. If it worked it can happened also in 2014

Rafael Nadal has confirmed his participation at Copa Claro 2014 in Buenos Aires, Argentina :
Article : http://rafanadal-kingoftennis.ru/ne...pa_claro_2014_in_buenos_aires/2013-12-04-2040
Youtube announcement : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MveOMMV-vm8
(Reuters) - World number one Rafael Nadal will play in the Buenos Aires ATP tournament in February for the first time since 2005, the Spaniard said on Wednesday.

The tournament to be held at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club from February 10 to 16 is part of the Latin American swing of claycourt events which also includes tournaments in Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

"After a time when I was unable to go, this year I'm going to return to the Buenos Aires tournament and I'm excited to play the Copa Claro again," Nadal said in a video shown at a news conference.

Nadal lost to Argentine Gaston Gaudio, the 2004 French Open champion, in the quarter-final of the 2005 Buenos Aires tournament at the start of a glittering career that has included 13 grand slam titles, eight at Roland Garros.

"We're very happy to have Rafa, to have a world number one playing for the points in Argentina," said tournament director Martin Jaite, who is also his country's Davis Cup captain.

Nadal made his comeback from a long injury layoff at the Vina del Mar tournament in Chile last February, launching a comeback that took him back to the top of the rankings last month.

He was in Argentina last month for exhibition matches against world number two Novak Djokovic and retired Argentine former number three David Nalbandian's farewell to tennis.

Buenos Aires champion David Ferrer will not be defending his title.
Tournaments confirmed to far : http://rafaelnadalfans.com/2013/11/...chedule-where-does-rafael-nadal-play-in-2014/

Where does Rafael Nadal play in 2014? That’s the question on everyone’s mind these days, as fans want to make plans to see the World No.1 live. Our advice to you is to wait until Rafa’s team has confirmed his participation in a tournament before making non-refundable travel plans. The good thing is that Rafa has 10 titles to defend, so we can reasonably expect him to return to most of those tournaments. Besides the Grand Slams, this is what Team Nadal has confirmed so far:

Doha, Qatar – December 30, 2013 – January 4, 2014
Australian Open – January 13 – 26
Buenos Aires, Argentina — February 8 – 16
Rio Open, Brazil – February 15 – 23
Sony Open, Miami – March 17 – 30
Barcelona Open – April 21 – 28
French Open – May 25 – Jun 8
Wimbledon – June 23 – July 6
US Open – August 25 – September 8

Hey, you're prophetic, because the real Rafa is indeed back!

But, great stuff from you, as always.

I voted for the same people. It's weird how so many Rafa fans are also Serena fans.
