H2H in Slams

Nadal : 21-11
OMG how many more times are you gonna beat the same dead horse. Out of all his Slam matches vs Djokovic and Federer 50% have been at the FO. FIFTY %. He played them 16 times at the FO and 16 times in all the other Slams COMBINED. This h2h is absolutely meaningless.

From the 2 (Djokovic and Federer) Djokovic is more at a disadvantage - he played Nadal 10 times at the FO and 8 times in all the other Slams COMBINED.

What a joke. How you still have the nerve to bring this meaningless stat is beyond me.

It’s like it’s all they have

They should write "clay skew" on Nadal's tombstone

GS: 14/22 - 64% of Slams won on clay, despite 25% of Slams being played on clay

Slam H2H: majority of matches played on clay, Nadal losing to Rosol or Brown instead of Fed or Djokovic is not a positive

Slam win rate: Frequently "injured" for non-clay Slams he wouldn't have won anyway; instead rests to gear up for clay season

So what? Beating a player 8 times and 6 times at the same major is pretty unprecedented.
Everyone knows that Nadal is the greatest clay player ever. By combining all his slam matches into one you mix the surface where he reigns supreme (clay) with surfaces where the other two are better (grass and HC).

6 is the magic number.
6x6 = 36 years old.
6th position at the total weeks as Number 1 list.
Currently a 6th ranked ATP Player.

Nadal leads them 5-4 on hardcourt, trails 2-5 on grass. While leading 14-2 on clay.

Whatever “unskewed” percent you try to extrapolate that to, Rafa has the best H2H.

Nadal was defending champion and Did Not Play:
2009 Wimbledon
2014 US Open
2020 US Open

Nadal also Did Not Play:
2003 French Open
2004 French Open
2004 Wimbledon
2006 Australian Open
2012 US Open
2013 Australian Open
2016 Wimbledon
2021 Wimbledon
2021 US Open

And Nadal retired from:
2010 Australian Open (QF) defending champion
2016 French Open (R3)
2018 Australian Open (QF)
2018 US Open (SF) defending champion
2022 Wimbledon (SF)

Stats to be proud of. Rafa is one of the greatest ATGs ever.

It's over Nadal fans. The clay skew has come back to haunt you guys......and Nadal himself.

He will go down as the greatest clay courter.

Djokovic and Federer are better ALL-COURT players hands down.

Nadal 2-2 vs. Djokovic on grass (1 loss* indoors)
Nadal 2-1 vs. Djokovic in USO (Finals)
Nadal 3-1 vs. Federer at AO
Nadal def. Federer 2008 Wimbledon Final (65 straight grass wins for Federer ended)

Nice all-court players you got there bub ;)

To start with - stop adding Federer stats to Djokovics, just to make them together look worse.

In slams -
Djokovic leads 2-1 on grass and
Djokovic leads 3-2 on hard courts as well.
Only in clay nadal leads and that is expected.

Also another interesting statistic from 2011 onwards - Djokovic leads slam h2h 7-6, despite playing 7 clays slam matches! That’s some statistic. Basically Nadal is officially a Djokovic’s pigeon outside clay and even with clay skew - since 2011 he is owning Nadal like how.

And slam win rate is a hilarious metric tbh. It’s going to go down drastically for Nadal. Just letting you know it was 34.3% last year post RG. Given his decline - he will have a much lower win %.

And Olympic gold medal, really? Is Andy Murray GOAT because of it? Lol.

It’s now like picking those little twisted metrics for Clay courter fans.

"Nothing before 2011 counts and clay doesn't count," the post :-D

It does. But given OP is making claims for Nadal being a better all court player than Djokovic - has to be sorted

He is a great clay courter. Infact the best ever. But that is where it ends.

The day Nadal beats Djokovic in his pet slam is the day I will be okay with the fact that Nadal is a great all court player. Djokovic has done it the hard way - has slayed the clay god not once but twice on his fav court. Still waiting for Nadal doing it to Djokovic in RLA

And no big indoor titles out of 12 tries is a big miss from resume for Nadal. Huge actually. It’s a big title with the biggest prize money too ;)

OK, OK.....we will let Nadal fans have their delusional fun in here.....

It's very funny if you think about it.

If Djokovic had been good enough to reach Nadal in 2009, 2017, etc. Nadal would have those wins. You're actually faulting Nadal for being so good that even in the years he's injured or in terrible form, he reaches the business end of RG. That's like claiming a player who is 5-0 in finals is superior to a player who is 5-4 lol.

And again, Nadal owns a 2-2 record vs. Djokovic on grass with one of Djokovic's wins being asterisked due to the roof, and a 2-1 record vs. Djokovic at the US Open, all in Finals. And a 3-1 record vs. Federer at AO, and ended Federer's 65-match grass win streak in the 2008 Wimbledon Final. So, he has smacked around Djokovic and Federer plenty of times off clay. You can't just pretend that history started after 2011 or 2013 or whatever, just because what happened prior hurt your feelings lol

Lol using ifs and asterisks. And popularity in some recent posts.

Go on. No amount of coping will make a clay courter a GOAT.

It’s a tie in slams, now we are looking at other things -

So big titles now stands at 66-59! Weeks at #1 is 375(and counting) vs 209.

The gap in the 2 resumes is now big to be filled by any vanity metrics like h2h etc. where also Djokovic leads 30-29. Heck in total titles also now it’s 93-92. Ouch, it’s no where to run, no where to hide sort of situation.

What matters is titles and weeks at the top of sport. Both are all but gone. Sad but true
