Every time Nadal speaks his opinion something ridiculously stupid comes out.
Apparently, Nadal is not entitled to his opinion![]()
Rafa has single-handedly made the Olympics important for tennis players. A lot of players used to stay away before 2008.

If Rafa didn't own Federer H2H, the haters would have never slithered out of their holes
It's amusing

he said personally. he didnt state it as an objective fact.
Nadal must be a patriot, like Hewitt. Hewitt said, after beating Federer in the 2003 DC SF, that winning that match was way better and more important than winning Wimbledon.
'In an interview with Reuters, the 25-year-old said that for him personally the Olympics ranked above the four Grand Slams in prestige.'
Of course, he's the only active player to have won a singles gold medal in the Olympics so he might just be a little biased!

Media pumps out typical sensationalist headline; *******s believe sensationalist headline word for word without actually reading/watching the article/video; proclaim that *******s believe Rafa's BS, when they themselves believe sensationalist BS word for word; conveniently decide to forget the part where he states he is about to express his opinion; lambast him anyway as though he is preaching truth; what else is new?I have listened to this several times and I cannot hear Nadal saying that the olympics are bigger than the slams. He says that the olympic games are very special for many reasons, the biggest one being that you are representing your country.

Meanwhile, I'm sure Federer, the PC man, would've have said something along the lines of:
"Well you know, slams are important, maybe the most important events in the season, but the Olympics are also very special, especially since they only come by every four years, so they're all important."

That is his opinion and we have to respect it.
You respect an opinion because it is a reasonable one and that doesnt mean you have to agree with it.
you should note that your own argument dismantles Nadal's idea. it is nothing close to reasonable. therefore one cannot respect that.
using a analogy to ilustrate :
I dislike Queen, but i respect those who like. why? because i can recognize the merits in that refered band.
I dislike Jessie J and i disrespect those who like why? her music is absolute fecal matter!!!
That is his opinion and we have to respect it.
Freddie Mercury had the best voice in the history of music
LOL spot on, Federer the most meaningless personality in tennis.
What about Massu?![]()
Great post, dude. However, double standard is the standard when it comes to talking about Nadal on this forumMedia pumps out typical sensationalist headline; *******s believe sensationalist headline word for word without actually reading/watching the article/video; proclaim that *******s believe Rafa's BS, when they themselves believe sensationalist BS word for word; conveniently decide to forget the part where he states he is about to express his opinion; lambast him anyway as though he is preaching truth; what else is new?

Can't see the reason for all this butthurt honestly, Nadal's stating his personal preference, heck Novak would probably still say the greatest moment in his career was winning DC despite the fact that he reached #1 and became a Wimbledon champion all in the span of few days last year, I remember Fed crying after losing a Basel final to Henman etc.
The opinion on the value/importance of the Olympics medal vastly differs from player to player.
Yes, sir. Novak was crying as he exited the court after losing to Nadal at Bejing SFs. Yet, Nadal is the worst person on earth for thinking that Olympics were special
No he didn't. He and his **** band turned rock n roll into a cabaret.
that is not what he said.

It's a hyperbole.
No one criticizes Djokovic, Hewitt, Ljubicic etc. for thinking national competitions are of great importance. When Nadal said it, it is unacceptable. He is clearly tooting his own horn since he has won an Olympic gold. Apparently, It is not ok that Nadal has an opinion
well said. unfortunately most people here can't see the difference between their livelihood and the nation's livelihood. that is why a certain country always has problems getting NBA players to play in the olympics for example. it is always ME ME ME attitude. the same logic applies to why certain countries cant get its act together, and see how far they have fallen behind the rest of the world. because that doesnt matter at all. its all about their own individual livelihoods. This is a sensationalist title aimed at stirring things up (usual aim of the media, right?) What Rafa explains in the interview is not that the olympics is more important than the slams but that there is more prestige at winning an event for your country instead of just for yourself, a statement which is much less controversial than the journalist's headline suggests.
In another interview, asked what Rafa would most like to win in the future, he answered "slams", so I doubt very much he either underestimates or despises slams (I think the 6 hour battle vs Djoko at AO speaks for itself in this matter actually).
either you didnt read the article or you have understanding problems.
Nadal did not say OG is important. he said it's the most important. big difference there hey sparky?
read the piece in context pls, if your limited cerebral cortex allows for that. he said it is the most important because it is about bringing glory to his nation. and why is that important? because national glory trumps individual glory to him. do you understand that?either you didnt read the article or you have understanding problems.

This statement is becoming a cliche. He was a great singer, but the best in Rock n Roll history? LOL!
Maybe If the only Rock n Roll band you listen to is Queen, then yeah

Welcome back VOLLEY DUMBO.
hope you get banned soon.
now if your peanut could work as a brain, you would know IN TENNIS (not in your Rafa wet dream) the greatest prizes are the 4 Slams.
I think it is you who is having comprehension issues. Nadal used the key word " in my opinion". So what? That is only his personal view. It is a subjective feeling of his, get it slugger?
Olympics mean more to some players than others.
