Nadal Overtake Federer For Most Weeks in Top 2

It seems highly unlikely that Nadal will overtake Federer for most weeks at #1, needs 184 weeks to do that.

However, I think Nadal will overtake Federer for most weeks ranked in the top 2. He needs 52 weeks.

Federer was ranked in the top 2 for 346 consecutive weeks.

Nadal has spent 119 weeks at #1 and 248 weeks at #2.
Nadal was ranked in the top 2 for 212 consecutive weeks.

A lot can happen in the next 12 months, however, he's got such a huge advantage over everyone ranked 3rd and lower than he would have to play some absolutely dreadful tennis an go down down really fast for him not to break the record.

And after 2011 what happened? Unlike Federer, Nadal is man enough to turn around rivalries.

Had that to be the case, Sampras fans would hate Nadal rather than they are hating Federer ever since.

It's also part of the reason why some Nadal fans doesn't like Federer because he denied Nadal who had to settle for 2nd place.

He'll add to both the total for weeks at #1 and #2 eventually. He has a big lead over Djokovic as of now and the AO only widened that gap, so Nadal will keep adding to his total at #1 for the foreseeable future. It would take a big drop by Nadal during the clay season and a stellar clay court season by Djokovic plus a FO title before it started getting a bit more interesting on this front.

I suppose Djokovic, perhaps Murray if he regains his earlier form, and now suprisingly Wawrinka have the best chance, but I'll take Nadal as far as that goes.

Being #2 in the rankings is based on averaging all points.

When Fed racked up most of his Weeks at #1, Nadal was too young. Federer, in comparison, had achieved zilch by age 21.

As for Djokovic, nobody can contest his 2011 dominance, which was unbelievable. He got additional weeks at #1 due to Nadal being out injured for 7 months.
