Quotable stuff from Nadal -

“The knee problems gave me an insecurity with the movement. People thought he had won Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Rome – but I could not understand how I could win playing so badly.”

“Things come and go. You have good and bad moments. You need to appreciate the things that have been going well and feel fortunate for what is in your life and have sufficient humility to recognize all you’ve lived through. Past is not eternal”
_______________

It's clear that Nadal still does not trust his knees given that he's not bending nor transferring his weight as much on his backhand and that his footwork is still not 100%.

Hopefully he can regain his movement and show his potential on clay and grass in 2010.

Nadal will only get better. I have had knee problems in the past and i know what it is like. I successfully bounced back.

An Elite Athlete like Nadal will ofcourse bounce back and win more.

Very wise words from Rafa. He apparently realizes himself very well that 'nothing is forever', nor 'for granted', and cherishes his wins so far without having any 'too big' expectations for the future.
It would be nice to see some of his ****s realize this as well.

Thanks. Let's hope so. Rafa is the second greatest talent of this decade. Whether one likes Nadal or not, there's no denying that Tennis would be poorer without him in the mix at majors.

As much as I'd like this to be true for Nadal as it has been for you, it's a rather bold statement. Looking back at tennis history, all I can have right now are good hopes.

I only watched a bit of the first section and I spotted a tin of Head ATP balls. I was playing with some of those on a really fast/bouncy indoor court the other day. Very very bouncy, took a bit of getting used to.

Might actually watch the programme at some point, nice one for the links.

Your avatar looks like Nadals face is touching Federers face. I am pretty sure you did this on purpose.

HAHA. ME did 'what' on purpose? :)
If anything, Rafa himself did this on purpose, not me.
It's a screencap of their meeting at the net after their final in Hamburg, 2008. Full picture is over here:

If I indeed do anything on purpose regarding Feds & Nads, it's emphasizing how much they are so much more respecting and friendly towards each other than their respective **** part of mutual fandoms, yes. ;)

It's a hard life being a Fedal fan.

for sure. the guy bugs me, but i like having him in the mix-homeboy is a tough out, and brings it every time.

He was really bad in 2009 clay season and just won those clay tourneys by outgrinding his opponents.

He was mentioning about clay right? I swear later when i watched i wasn't impressed Nadal by one bit. Not only at Madrid even at MC or Rome. Was thinking what's wrong with his play compared to earlier. I thought he won most of those matches because of his mental strength.

Nadal should have won the Grand Slam in 2009.
It was his peak year.

Without injuries that season, he would have won RG and Wimbledon, only the US Open eluded him at that time, but if he reached the semi-finals of that Major tournament with low confidence, imagine if he arrived in NY with 3 GS in tow, the story would have been different.
Of course, a Joker fan doesn't understand it, because his idol never had a serious injury in the peak of his career.
