Nadal plays non mandatory event, complains about schedule

Listen, get your head out of Nadal's rear end and open your eyes. Yes, Nadal and everyone else in the world has a right to complain. However in this case, Nadal has no right to complain, being that he plays exos, doubles, and events he is not mandated to play. So, until he stops with the "extra curricular activity", he needs to shut the F up, and stop complaining about the schedule, when the fact is, he is to blame, and no one else. It simply makes him look like a spoiled little girl, and hypocrite.
You might be partially right. I've already said that Nadal is also responsible for not administering his tournament appearances more carefully. You can drop the "Working class hero" tune though, it ain't selling.

I disagree with you.

Firstly, Rafa loves Barcelona because it is his home club. He loves it there. Its like the way Federer feels with Basel, Djokovic with Belgrade and so on.

Secondly, Roddick does play small events. San Jose, Memphis, Indy, and Washington are 4 American events.

Thirdly, if you are saying that Roddick doesnt play the Dalray Beaches, well the equivilent of that for Nadal is Casablanca, Estoril, Stutgart etc.

Fourthly, its been hard to skip MC, Barcelona and even Rome all these years when hes winning. I know that players (except Fed) hate not to defend titles. Its also common courtesy.

Thank you, I was going to reply. You did it perfectly.

To the first bolded - Memphis and Washington are 500 events, the past couple of seasons Roddick has skipped Indy, which made tourney organizers none too happy, and now Indy is gone as an event.

To the 3rd - like someone else said, those events aren't in Spain. Fed doesn't play Gstaad anymore, Nole doesn't play the Serbian challenger events, does he? Spanish fans have plenty of opportunities to see Nadal, whether it's in Madrid or in DC. Also, Nadal isn't the only big Spaniard - sure he's the biggest, probably by miles, but Spanish fans also have Verdasco, JCF, Ferrero, and plenty others to cheer for. Sure Nadal is the biggest, but these events don't need Nadal in order to be successful.

To the 4th point - Nadal didn't have a problem skipping Queens and Wimbledon as defending champ, he shouldn't have a problem skipping Barcelona to ensure his health.

I think his only problem is the way they cram the clay court season into 4 weeks. This is his best surface and he's looking to pick up more points.

Got to agree. He wants to play because it's his best surface, but is upset that he can't because the clay season is so short.

So it should all be about Nadal?

You can't change up the schedule for one player. You don't see Roddick complaining that the grasscourt "season" is so short, as that's his best surface

Nonsense. If Nadal hadn't injured himself, he would have won RG and (possibly) Wimbledon. Roger might have won 0 Slams last year. (Or perhaps 1, if he had taken Wimbledon.)

You're saying Nadal takes out an onfire Hewitt, Roddick, and then possibly go through Murray who has beaten him the last two times they've played at slams, and THEN takes out Federer?

You're kidding me right?

Roddick might have been a problem, but I would have expected an in form Nadal to prevail in Wimbledon. Hewitt and Murray wouldn't have done anything to stop the defending champion. And as for Nadal taking out Federer, yeah that's completely outrageous (I mean, he really doesn't stand a chance whenever he and Fed play in Wimbledon finals, does he?)

when did Nadal get injured???
Nadal has had to deal with tendinitis flare ups on a permanent basis for a while now. His knees have been and will continue to be a problem. And due to his style of play, issues like that are going to cause him much bigger problems than what they would cause someone like Federer. Plain and simple. If you need to see Nadal come limping out of a match to convince yourself of that, you simply will never be convinced. Even slight problems at such levels are bound to cause serious issues.

I think your theory goes something like: Nadal was completely healthy and was just taken out by an on fire Soderling. He couldn't deal with it mentally, and then he dropped Wimbledon because he was afraid like a little girl.

If you want to know what I think about your theory here it goes:
HA
HA
HAHAHAHA
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE
HIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While the ATP schedule is a bit extreme Nadal just doesn't get it, he doesn't seem to be the smartest guy on the tour, he needs to hire someone to do his scheduling for him, a doctor maybe (because a doctor could schedule with his injury prone-ness in mind)?

If Nadal had played, he still would have been less than 100% and could have easily lost to any of those guys, yes even Hewitt.

Yeah, the knee thing is a coverup that has been painstakingly crafted by Rafa and Uncle Toni for years, with the help of CIA former operatives and the Pope.

Nadal's injuries sound like they need to start getting Social Security benefits. That's how old and tired these excuses are. If you're on the court you're fully fit and there are no excuses.

I think something like that has already started to happen, thankfully. I actually can see why Rafa hasn't been very smart about it. He's just not as calculative as someone like Roger, so it's hard for him to dial it down a little.

If he would have played in his shape, of course he wouldn't have gotten far. But I'm going with the ******* theory that his injuries are made up. Assuming that, a healthy Nadal (the defending champion) would have been favorite to reach the final and fight for the title against Fed.

Bunch of bologna that is. Yeah, everybody which is in the court is fully fit. Uh huh. Nobody ever gets injured, especially Nadal.

since when?
Only Nadal knows. We can only tell when he started actually showing visible signs of the problems. And it has been a long time. What has changed overtime is the gravity. It only makes sense that the problems get worse with age and increased strain. About anyone on tour would have been injured with all the stuff that Nadal did in that 12 month span between early 08 and early 09. Remember all the posts about Nadal being a beast and being a god? Well, Nadal is human and he broke.

But I predict that *******s everywhere will continue saying that Nadal's injuries are all made up. Can't blame you for it really. So keep at it. Here's how you'll know when Nadal's knees are OK: When he starts handing Fed's arse to him in Slam finals again. How's that for a diagnosis?

^^Interesting. Never noticed nadal being injured.
^^They must have played while you were still inside that poorly ventilated factory where you leave pieces of your life behind day by day while those elite brats at the ATP keep bringing in the millions. That's what you get for not practicing your 2HBH enough.

Correction: Completely new poster. Usually I have no time (and can't be bothered) to post, let alone 83 posts/day. I have to admit that putting into evidence people's poor debating skills and logical fallacies is kind of addictive.

haha, yeah, i dont remember his name...you think it's the same nutjob?
This week I've been sick. Sadly, my average will start dropping soon. If you can prove I was that other nutjob, I'll convince Drakulie to wire you his complete life savings (factory money.) I hope you have a McDonalds nearby and some gas in your car's tank.

what does this have to do with Nadal's "injury" or me hitting with a one-hander?

Explain.

It's hard to understand how Nadal's injury (as you suggest) has anything to do with my backhand.

Thanks in advance.

Did I ever say it did? There's nothing to explain. Do your posts always make sense? No. You are the master of the non sequitur.

All you need to know is that Nadal has been injured. That is a fact.
