Nadal slammed knee against a chair

BREAKING NEWS: Confirmation on the identity of the chair appears to suggest it was SWISS made!

You know you're getting top notch quality and solidity when it is Swiss Made!

Hope he's ok! Novak needs a competent dance partner to tango for the RG title!

First pic he's holding his right knee and the second pic he's stepping on his right leg and feeling the pain. Its the right knee and its just the way the pictures have been taken.

Seriously tho, if the Nadal camp make a big deal out of this in the press conference then im going to lose all respect for Rafa. Prior injury or not, unless he was trying to emulate captain falcon on smash bros on the chair then it should be healed in an hour. tops.

Yes, good explanation of which knee and interpretation of the pix.

Managed to find a pic of the moment of inpact

My 3 year old skinned his knee today. He's questionable for RG2035. Might have to hold him out, especially if his arch-rival Eastern European superstar Youngvac Fedokovic is looking strong... Gotta preserve his H2H.

I think you're all being terribly mean about this!

Chairs can be extremely dangerous things you know. I think Rafa would be well within his rights to ask for them to be banned from all tennis courts with immediate effect.

He will have history on his side. After all, there were never any chairs on court to threaten Laver, Rosewall and Pancho Gonzales when they were playing!

This has became the biggest story in tennis, because there is no bigger situation in tennis history than Nadal's 10th French Open title.
Even the hint of an injury is celebrated.

I think it's possible that the chair provoked Rafa. Do you remember the time Rafa merely sat on one and got injured ?

Rafa acted in self-defence and I stand behind him on this one.

You guys are harsh, give Nadal a break.

It's a well known fact that tennis chairs can move around, all it takes is a gust of wind or a chair to be hit by a vicious topspin forehand for the chairs to become disorientated. These same chairs will then fail to observe proper conduct when approached by a player, by player I mean only 1 player on the ATP, actually it's only ever been 1 player in the history of tennis.

This will also help to explain the physical contact between Nadal & Rosol at Wimbeldon.
Nadal was trying to avoid a clearly disorientated chair and accidentally shouldered Rosol.

i mean, just look at the slow-motion replay... it's clear that the evil chair (what a nasty son of a flitch !) intentionally tried to bump his vulnerable rusty peak injured golden knee.

see how fast those malicious creature can strike (10000 fps):

As long as it's about Nadal it'll be allowed.

Hey I'm the first guy to jump into a good roasting of Djokers elite overhead skills or lego haircut or gumby physique or Murray-ADD-activating acting skills or ball-boy-bladder-control decimating nerd rage :p

No ones perfect gotta laugh at the flaws. Er body has em.

Seriously. The guy gets hurt and they come in here making jokes about him.

Very tasteless.

Vamos, regardless of the haters.

You.... Seriously think he was hurt by bumping into a chair....? Ok lol.

Not referring to jokes, or even this thread, but the non-stop, constant anti Nadal party on this board. We all need humor on here. But you're smart enough to know what the real deal is on here.

Everything he's said in the past few weeks is not serious. Yet another Nadal parody account

Not true. I joke about some stuff but on issues like this (injuries) and other tennis stuff I am serious. Trolling is for MTF. This site is way more mature so it's nice to have serious discussions here without all the craziness.

Oh and nice Bad News avatar...but Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler >>>> Bad News Barrett.

The Ziggler/Neville vs Barrett/Sheamus tag team matches are so good though.

I think the prob is the Fed fans see Rafa as a threat to their identity (17) and revel in his setbacks while the Djoker fans see him as a contemporary rival (more so than old Fed) and want him to lose so Djoker can ascend. The Djoker fans don't lay into Fed as much cause he's not really a viable threat to Djoker at the slams anymore and the Fed fans don't lay into djoker as much because he's not a serious legacy threat and someone has to win slams to block Rafa...

So basically Rafa's like the middle child in a disfunctional family.

You are not a Fed fan turned Nadal fan  I'm not as naive as the rest.
Dolph is better than BNB, but not Ambrose. I agree about the tag matches. This new Sheamus heel turn is awesomeeeee.

Well said. Long story short: everyone cares about Nadal, whether good or bad.

Well you an think what you want but it's true.

But yeah, I'm really happy with the Sheamus heel turn and his feuds so far.

Just weeks ago you were hating on Rafa man, come on? If you're serious then great, but it would be a faster turn than the Shield after beating Evolution last year

haha, a lot like it, though from what i have seem, many doubt djokovic will get near nadal or federer, but he can if the keeps the current level, if anothers 2011 happened, though many will disapprove the notion, he could pass federer.

A Federer fan can become a Rafa fan and that's not impossible. However, a guy hating on Rafa weeks ago suddenly becomes Roger fan watching youtube videos is lol  worthy..

He is a master troll, I guess. Not that it means anything to me who is his fav player :)

To be honest I always harbored doubts and the H2H always bothered me but I always went with the Fed-party line and then finally I had enough and had the courage to come out of the closet as a Nadal fan because I realized that when I play, I play like him, and it takes more work and guts to play to do what he does. Djokovic has also driven me here. I took for granted the Fed-Nadal rivalry and got caught up in the bitterness of it, and now I realize that I'd much rather have the pre-Djokovic days.

Makes sense, I didn't like Federer until he started declining, and I could actually see the work he had to put in to win matches. It's different for everyone, but any true fan of the sport should get to that point. That's why I am the way I am with the true trolls on here that have ZERO appreciation for these guys. It's ridiculous how much they obsessively hate them. (not the humorous/casual trolls) I think we know the type I mean. Watch matches like the 07 FO final or 09 AO etc, and it's incredible what those guys did in their primes. If you really are being serious, then it's good to hear you can enjoy Rafa's game.

Yeah, you understand the abuse we Fed fans went trough when Fed declined, that's why you are much nicer.

5 years age gap, so Rafa was at his peak when Federer declined and at the time his fans destroyed Federer and made fun of him, without realizing this day will come for Nadal too.

The day has come. What goes around, comes around.

Will the day ever come at Roland Garros?
Because everyone was so sure last year when Ferrer beat Nadal at Monte Carlo in straight sets, and Almagro beat Nadal at Barcelona, and Nishikori almost beat Nadal at Madrid etc. and Nadal still only dropped 2 sets at Roland Garros (more impressive than his 2013 Roland Garros).
Is there any reason to think Nadal will lose more than 2 sets at this year's French Open?
