Nadal slams French 'campaign' to discredit Spain !

I can't wait to hear the French boo him continuously from the moment he steps on court. Nadal is an enemy of freedom of speech, and deserves every bit of wrath the Parisian crowds can hurl at him. :) And I want encores from the puppets with MTOs, butt-picking, whining about the schedule and maladies during news conferences.

But I bet he waits to see whether Fed can take out Novak for him before he decides to boycott the French Open, especially after Rafa loses in the finals of Rome, Madrid and Monte Carlo (which Djokovic will enter just to mess with Rafa).

Lol, I think you will just to have keep dreaming. They didn't boo him after Toni pretty much called them stupid, I doubt they will over this. Especially since he isn't even suing.

Concerning Canal +, they're right to sue. The channel covers Monte Carlo for years and each time they beg Nadal for interviews, they invite Tony to comment in french and the femal interviewer looks like she has a crush on Rafa. So, yes sport coverage and satirical news are not related but the men in power are the same: hypocritical.

Toni said that they apologized. Now, I haven't seen anything about it in the press, so maybe it was a private apology?.

Honestly....Nadal and his camp have himself to blame.

If they hadnt pissed themselves when Noah originally made his comments, nobody would care now. He didnt even mention Nadal but Nadal and his camp came out guns blazing.

And now he wonders why the french have it in for him. Big dummy.

The French have never liked Nadal, long before Noah made his comments so I doubt that's why they're doing this.

The world conspires against the nadals... Poor poor nadals...

True.

But by he and his camp jumping the gun they have only made it worse.

And it was pure stupidity on their part.

That or they doth protest too much.

^ If he was responding to me yelling "Federerer" I was just imitating the thoughts constantly rattling around in JacksonVile's head. Since he is obsessed with him and everything.

If he wasnt, then I got nothing.

... a suitable look of contempt for the thread!

Beautiful reply.
The cadence of the line, an iamb followed by three anapests, brought immediately to mind many of the verses in this little Nabokov poem I know by heart.

Come here, said my hostess, her face making room
for one of those pink introductory smiles
that link, like a valley of fruit trees in bloom,
the slopes of two names.
I want you, she murmured, to ‘eat Dr. James.

I was hungry. The Doctor looked good. He had read
the great book of the week and had liked it, he said,
because it was powerful. So I was brought
a generous helping. His mauve-bosomed wife
kept showing me, very politely, I thought,
the tenderest bits with the point of her knife.
I ate — and in Egypt the sunsets were swell;
The Russians were doing remarkably well;
had I met a Prince Poprinsky, whom he had known
in Caparabella, or was it Mentone?
They had traveled extensively, he and his wife;
her hobby was People, his hobby was Life.
All was good and well cooked, but the tastiest part
was his nut-flavored, crisp cerebellum. The heart
resembled a shiny brown date,
and I stowed all the studs on the edge of my plate.

If an entire country does not like one person, there must be some plausible reason for it.

Like what? There really is no solid reason for the dislike thrown at Nadal at RG other than he beat fan favorite Fed there one too many times. The treatment he receives there is borderline abuse.

France takes doping matters very seriously, Spain does not. That seems to be an overlooked aspect/reason behind that "satire".

Disclaimer: I'm not implying that Rafa is doping.

Quoted for truth. People are being very ignorant if they honestly don't know the difference. That TV show is being slanderous, and Rafa could well sue them himself (though I'm glad he doesn't bother to). Someone with knowledge of the French defamation laws can correct me, but I understand that it's be them (the responsibles of the TV show) who would be obliged to prove the veracity of their claims. They could try to claim it was just a joke, but I'm not sure how much that would work.

That's not really the point, Crisstti. Of course he could sue them, he'd be in his right to do so (and might even win), and it would be totally stupid. We're talking about image, here. The more they publicize the show, the more the Guignols will rub it in. It would have been much more clever of Rafa to laugh about it and say something like "My doll is not very life-like, it's not muscled enough", ie answer on *their* terms. That would have basically cut the grass under their feet. By answering as they did and inflaming the matter further, the Spanish are just painting a big red target on their heads.

Exactly. France is basically at the forefront of the antidoping crusade, and Spain has basically legalized doping. The two countries being neighbours and their stances on the matter being so opposed, there's bound to be problems from time to time (which are probably aggravated when the Spanish win the main French sporting events).

nadal isn't pigeon loser to humorless french speaking federer trolls. why should he lower himself to bad federer and french standards?

now now... your fellow Nadaletes Batleby and Jacksonvile would like to have a word with you Devila...

first you show how bitter and distastefull Nadal fans are, Jacson vile will not be happy, unless he ignores your post and bends this into another Federen fans are this and that...

second, you generalise about French, and according to your fellow Nadalete Bartelby, that is Ethnic slurr... unless he posts another of his softcore nadal pictures...

you will be in trouble!!!!

First of all I was leg-pulling and you know it.

Second, this was there before he beat Federer.

Third, Fred is not French so why should they react thusly.

Fourth, by this logic they or others should hate Fred for beating Roddick so many times.

Fifth, if winning is what makes them hate, then again Fred with 16 slams should be hated not Rafa who was #2 to Fred for a darned long time.

Sixth, Fred beats so many French players over and over, they should hate him for that.

I could go on and on, I think you really need to find another excuse for their supposed dislike.

What if the majority of Europe dislikes one particular country:twisted:.
I know nothing of Europe, so which country do they dislike? Oh, let me guess, France ?

And disliking a country is another issue since there is politics involved, and we are conditioned to hating neighbouring/conflicting countries. My country for example is conditioned to look at one neighbour as enemy.

Unbelievably slack picture. Can't even draw a strand of hair.

You should have more consideration to your fellow Nadal fans.

I thought it was cute. That kid seems to be double the Nadal fan you will ever be.

Well..Nadal could consider boycotting RG. Not a bad idea, I think.

This would also ensure that he's fresh for Wimbledon, Olympics and the fall hardcourt season.

RG is definitely nowhere close to being his best slam at this time in his career..

Yep. He may as well tell em' to eff off while he can. He won't win it anyway so just boycott it. It'll save his h2h with FrankenCvac from taking another hit at least.

That would probably suck for him if it's the point, considering that he has never won Wimbledon without the momentum of a RG win. He would be going for Wimby without any confidence or momentum. Bad idea.

Even sucking on clay, RG was the last place he won a Slam. He always plays great there, or at least well enough to win.

Besides, RG is fast now. Since Rafito already entered the grandpa, washed up part of his career at a grand age of 25, he will need every possible edge he gets with the court speed and new babolat balls. Wimbledon is too slow for him these days.

Rafa is a great RG player (and Monte Carlo and Barcelona as well).

He is not going to boycott RG, the place where he has had the most success in his career especially since he is going for his 7th record breaking win there. Come on. He has a better chance at RG than he does at Wimbledon.

and somehow, another CAPSRAFAFAN that has been quiet ever since joining starts "POASTING" all over the place....

But what if the kid is French? Nadal fan or not, he's part of France. Not a good people.

Except I don't care about a racist's race, I only care about their racism. I'm against all racist people.

But French people are racist against Spaniards. What's to like about French people?

Lol this second post in particular is gold.
Bullzilla showing why he is the classy posters that he his.

Nothing like showing hypocritical racist tendencies yourself and generalizing a whole nation based on your own biased view.

I think veroniquem is french, vernonbc might be french too. What a bunch of spanish haters, huh?

Again, why would I like French people? They've been proven to be racist against Spanish people. So why would I like them?

Lets see... so you are a "racist" (*) towards French because they are "racists" towards Spaniards...

ah... i see!

(*) (it's not racism... but that would be a whole ne subject)!!

If another country was as racist against Spaniards as France is, then I'd say I don't like French/Other Country because they are racists. The race of French people have nothing to do with why I dislike them. I dislike them because they are racist against Spanish people.

But if your generalisation of the French racism against Spaniards is correct, then that racism is an intrinsic part of the French psyche and thus becomes a part of the French race.
