Centuries are not he same than decades.
The XXI century started in 2001. The 2000s decade started in 2000.
There is nothing "logical" or "non-logical" about this. Calendaries are a cultural creation. Thus, centuries are not like decades, culturally.
nah, reference systems are identical, no matter if it's decades, centures, milleniums or a childbirth, take a look at the ruler- there's a zero but there's no centimeter zero on it, when a child is born it begins and goes year 1 right away, 2020 is the last year of a decade, next decade starts in 2021, it's just a common misconception because for a human' eye it's more comfortable, more convenient to see it that way (1980s, 1990s), that's only a reason..there was 1BC and then it goes 1AD straight (year zero doesn't exist)Centuries are not he same than decades.

No, they are not identical at all. Again, next decade doesn't start in 2021 stop being ridiculous. 2020 is not part of the 2010s. Next decade starts in 2020. I agree it is cultural/conventional and non-logical the contradiction between centuries and decades. But it is what it is.Good post. Though I would say that it (the calendar) is indeed non-logical, but is not illogical. That is, it is outside the realm of logic but (or, rather, "as a result") is not an example of flawed logic.
from 0 to 1 it's centimeter 1 is going, 0,5cm is half a centimeter, if we start to go in the opposite direction then till the zero it's gonna be still cm1(not cm0), then below 0 it will be -1cm (there's no cm0, same story with chronology), 0 is an abstract point which can't be the ongoing time periodThe ruler is correct as it measures 1 cm between the 0 & the 1,
if it's 0.50 on the clock face we say first hour is going but not a zero hour is going (zero hour doesn't exist) as i said, reference systems are identical, why should we make an exception for decades specifically, use simple logic but not excuses(cultural or not cultural) and everything is gonna be okI agree it is cultural/conventional and non-logical the contradiction between centuries and decades. But it is what it is.
next decade hits in 2021 ...wikipedia is not a soild source to be referred lolNo, they are not identical at all. Again, next decade doesn't start in 2021 stop being ridiculous. 2020 is not part of the 2010s. Next decade starts in 2020. It will be 2020-2029.
As I said, centuries are not the same as decades. Both centuries and decades are a cultural measure. Cultural is the crucial word. It is a human creation and so it is entirely conventional and starts and finishes when humans say.
2001: first year of XXI century.
2000: first year of the 2000s decade.
Why does Wikipedia say that the 2000s decade starts in 2000?
If year zero doesn't exist please tell us the yr Jesus was born - we know it's not 1AD or 1BC. Which year was it?

2001Don’t agree with this. They either both start in 2000, or both in 2001. (I would say 2000)

The new decade begins January 1, 2020. Deal with it!I don't get what you're trying to link me here. It seems to be agreeing with me.
a. Officially a ten-year period beginning with the year 1, as 1921-1930, 1931-1940, etc.
b. in common usage, a ten-year period beginning with a year 0, as 1920-1929, 1930-1939, etc.
So as I said, "enough people say something false thousands of times, it might as well be true. "
Are you maybe just trying to argue this because you want Nadal to have a new achievement under his belt? Because I don't care about that. Nadal has made a special achievement nonetheless, so I congratulate him. But don't try to tell me 2020 is a new decade.

Two words: Amazing and Privileged.Even better I'm from Newcastle;
140km north of Sydney. Far less crowded, some of the best beaches in the world (I swim/run along the ones in this clip most mornings - dolphins & whales aplenty). Great vineyards/golf courses. Bit of a well kept secret but Lonely Planet ranked us 9 one time lol (New York no.1) so secret is slowly getting out : )
