After suffering five bruising losses at Cincinnati, Djokovic won that elusive masters that he always seemed destined to fail at, on his sixth attempt of asking.

Now Nadal will get the chance to do it on his sixth chance of asking.

Vamos Rafa.

Don't you want to see Djokovic ovetaking Agassi's 6 titles for a new all-time tournament stand-alone record or what?...

You are talking like next year is Djokovic's last chance to win his most dominant masters of his career. Of course I want him to, just saying Nadal might take it. :)

There's no way lol. Coincidence I was just watching Nadal vs Federer at Miami 2017, a gassed Federer still beat Nadal. Miami isn't destined to be part of Nadal's Masters Haul.

LOL

And some people here think you're a Nadal hater. Sure, you won't write gushy threads with pink sweaters and baby elephants the way you might with Djokovic, but you do write such things. About tennis.

I don't get it, what exactly are people expecting from you? To have a different favourite player?

Good on you to find your balance over your 8 years here.

It is a good balance.

Of course I am a Nadal hater. Isn't it obvious? ;)

I seriously doubt Nadal plays the Sunshine Double. He set the pattern last year and if had nothing to do with injury, but the wise strategy to limit HC play. Next year it’ll be the slams, clay and perhaps Toronto.

Nadal is a beast. He just would not relent until he took out Federer at Wimbledon. That loss in 2007 would have been crushing but he made it a point to blow past it.

Good call. I’m not sure if he does but I think he puts it on his list of 2019 priorities.

The way the things are going, just after Acapulco another injury will appear on the horizon just in time to not play the Sunshine double, and one that requires exactly the same time to heal between the announcement, and the first clay tournament in Europe, so we needn't worry about Hitman being right this time around.

Or is Nadal going to drop the mask, and announce straightforwardly that he is focusing mainly on clay for the rest of his career, and HC and grass will be an afterthought?

The way things are going, if he plays Acapulco/IW/Miami you won't admit you were wrong accusing him of faking injuries. Nadal haters everywhere...

First round denadalization, no?

Even you would probably be happy to see Nadal finally win Miami. I remember being so upset he lost to Davy in 08. Even then I just felt like he had to win it then. Kinda like when he lost Wimby 07 I was like welp! That's it :D

I wouldn't stand up and cheer or anything. I wouldn't be happy myself, but I'd be happy for him especially if he showed real emotion. Seeing what certain wins mean to certain players can be quite special.

You truly believe that?

The guy who made a career out of over-scheduling is just going to drop 2 slow outdoor Masters from his routine, permanently? You think the injury in Australia had nothing to do with it? Why did he travel to Acapulco, just for show?

I will admit that I was wrong this time around.

Would YOU admit the same, if it happens (Nadal doesn't play, or plays one and snubs the other), and if it happens would you admit that the "haters" have a point?

I am bookmarking your post for further reference, if you say "yes"?

Nadal has business interests not far from Acapulco, and was training on his property there.

Anything about the thread topic?

One difference...
Almost all the time only federer (even the 2015 so called serveboat) and GOATing murray required to stop djokovic at cincinati, this time wasn't the case (worst playing fedr) plus HC is not the weak surface of djokovic, it's the best surface for him....
whereas in case of nadal, even in his prime (minus 2013), HC has never been the surface favoring his game. At miami, no specific player has been his problem. So I highly doubt....
even if he participates, there is no guarantee that he can get through a big server or a big hitter or a journeyman or a pusher..
and if he gets through final, there is 99.5% chance that either djokovic or zverev or federer will be waiting for him in the final, just to eat rafa in breakfast

Fedr wasn't exactly gassed at miami 2017 final...
Infact, he won more long baseline rallies than nadal...
His FH was very good in the match, as well as his movement.
Just slower than clay surface made it look close, otherwise the score would have been much like IW2017 R4... 6-1 6-2

Not at all.

I was asking you to pull back your tongue, but since you need to be asked in other ways apparently ....

Plainspoken is the easiest way with me. If you have issue with something I said let me know what it was and why.

Perhaps I clarify, perhaps I chuckle, perhaps it’s some misunderstanding that easily gets resolved.

I’ve generally made myself available to people that asked questions.

Actually, I have made that point many times to you directly.

That servile attitude to be perceived as more amiable is frankly embarrassing to witness.

Everyone knows what Hitman stands for.

God forbid Nadal wins the AO and Miami. It wouldn't even matter if he lost in the first round of FO after that. Never hear the end of it from VB.

No idea what you are on about.

On the matter of “everyone” being clear about Hitman’s favourite player take the cause with those that seemed unclear in this recent thread:

What’s up your bonnet anyway? Can’t a guy just get on here and say something friendly to someone else?

Ha! Its easy if you dissociate the player from the fans. We all know that all fan bases can be insufferable at times. If Fed wins RG, would you say the same thing? I would love to see it happen....exactly a decade after his first win. That would be something!

By "everyone" I meant everyone who has his head screwed right.

Pandering to trolling to look good is a trolling practice for cheap "points" itself.

One can do that, but when it is done most of the time, and mostly this, one has to call it for what it is (boot-polishing with rather obvious reasons).

Your pal ak was the same, as was Rusty before that etc.

My advice: cut it altogether, as that is no way to be nice.

Impossible to do if you log into the forum. In my case anyway. It's a little tougher for a Fed fan now because his chances of adding a slam have decreased so much.

If Fed wins RG, would you say the same thing?
Of course not :happydevil:. The odds of that are close to nill now. I couldn't think of a better win though. I'd swap it for a Wimbledon, but I know his chances are 100 times better there.
