Nothing but great things came from this final-

''Brazil will always be in my heart,'' Nadal said. ''Big things started to happen after I won here in 2005 and hopefully this is the start of something good again.''

''I'll definitely enjoy this one because of all the problems that I've gone through with the knee,'' Nadal said. ''When I won for the first time here I was just starting and hopefully this will mark a new beginning.''

''When the knee is feeling better like today I feel like that I can do more of the things that I used to do my entire life,'' he said. ''If the pain is bearable like it was today, then it's fine.''

When Nadal won Monte Carlo in 2010 after dropping to #4 in the world and a long title drought, Nadal became the first man in world history to win slams on clay, grass and hard-courts all in a calendar year.

I see a similar thing happening in 2013. And if Nadal ends up with 14 slams at only 27 years and 3 months, it looks like game over for Federer's slam record. :p

Nalbandian was a total disgrace out there.

Respect gone.

Come on. Nalbandian has been injured more than Nadal and has been away from the game with numerous injuries and just recently came back. It was impressive that he even made this final today. There's a reason why he's ranked #93 today. But getting blown off the court is something he's used to against many players.

If Nadal can do it then he deserves it. Should be a fun season now that we have Del Potro also in the mix along with Murray and Djokovic in good form along with Federer lurking. The sport needs all the top players to make things exciting.:)

Nadal probably feels a special connection with this Brazil event, because his number one goal is the Rio Olympics. Completely different event, but Brazil is Brazil. Its a special place for the reason that Nadal wants to be here in 2016 so badly. I'm not Nadal but this week's event means more to me than any event on the calendar, apart from Roland Garros.

Yeah, we sorta had that figured out a while back. But with both of you being banned, it can be confusing.
