is it me or it looks like hewitt has been playing better since his ex coach resigned?

Nadal will dispatch Hewitt easily. It's hard to ignore Hewitt's uncanny ability to hang around the tour and pick up results like this here and there.

If Lleyton keeps his head in the match, and plays as aggressive as he has this week, and keeps up the good net game, he will take Rafael to three sets. Nadal in three.

Hewitt's getting a set at least. Maybe, if Nadal's as fatigued as any other human being would be, and if Hewitts really on his A-game, this could be an upset.

isn't your user name FEDERER fanatic, shouldn't you be one of those people that just rip on nadal b/c he beat federer so many times?

There are some people who support players without hating their rivals.

I have no idea about the match as I haven't watched Hewitt playing on clay courts this year but judging by the way he is generally playing as a counter puncher then I think that Nadal will have a hard time tomorrow.

Perfect matchup for Nadal. Hewitt is on the small side and Nadal's topspin to Hewitt's backhand should create a lot of errors. The key for Nadal is not to get too agressive as Hewitt likes that.

Hewitt's backhand is one of the best two handers out right now (if he's back to his old lleyton form) and I think he is back to his own form b/c of his convincing victories over clay courters, and close matches with top players, including Davydenko.

Maybe so but on clay against Nadal, he will get balls much higher than what he is used to. He is only 5'11 so the balls will be jumping over his shoulder. Nadal made Federer's backhand a liability so why not Hewitt's? If the ball is in Hewitt's strike zone than yes he will probably punish players for playing there. Davydenko hits flat though and I don't know what style Almagro plays.

Alamagro's style is of the brain-dead variety. All flash, no point construction...pretty much the model of inconsistency and how the old Gonzo played.

Lets just rip everybody for having an opinion.

Hewitt got the closest to beating Nadal at the French Open last year with pretty much zero preperation. Hewitt will stretch Nadal but will probably lose.

Close to beat Nadal at the FO? 6-2 5-7 6-4 6-2.

Mathieu and Federer were much tougher even if they didn´t force Nadal to the 5th set.

I agree. Hewitt was not even close to being Nadal's toughest match at the French Open. Clearly only 3rd toughest after both Federer and Mathieu. To be honest I have no idea how Hewitt even won a set since the stats were heavily in Nadal's favor even in the set Hewitt won.

nadal should take this one easy as it is on clay.
but hewitt is nadal's daddy so far head to head and this gives nadal a chance to catch up.

He doesn't get troubled too much by Nadal's high-bouncing shots as he takes the ball early and moves Nadal around soaking up his power. That said, the outcome of the match depends on various factors. Hewitt has about a 2percent chance of pulling off an upset, considering he is afterall a former number 1 and 2-time Slam Champion. But I can easily picture him taking a set, the odds on that are much better. Last year's French match was very intense, lasting 4 hours.

All you guys trying to sell Hewitt today are just hoping too much. Hewitt is out of his element against the king of clay. Don´t disrespect him.

The Umpire(Norm Chryst?) asked to see the bottom of the player's shoes before or after the coin toss. Is he just checking for shoes that won't change the clay too much or something?

BTW, he didn't even really check; Nadal didn't even put his foot up.

I guess the Fedfans are hoping Hewitt beats Nadal since their boy can´t get the job done.

Nadal is not King of anything. He's a piggy about to be roasted!

Now that was an objective and unquestionable statement if I ever saw any! Sure, sure, come on, why in the world would someone say something like "Nadal is king of clay"? No arguments whatsoever to support that statement, are they?

He´s just one of the many Fed trolls in here.

Yeah exactly. Winning the last two FO´s, beating Fed 5 out of 5 times and winning 80 straight matches on clay doesn´t make him king of anything. Some people in here need to have their heads checked.

Plus Montecarlos, Barcelonas and Romes, three a piece. Nah, perhaps the problem is the word "king", a title you have to inherit via blood ties and hold until you are dead or voluntarily relinquish it. Let's try "President of clay", or "CEO of clay".

Live stream anywhere? bwin.com doesn't work anymore? star sports is playing soccer :-(

4 games haves been played and still no "come on" or "vamos"... Not, even, when Hewitt broke Nadal's serve... How many of each do you predict are going to be shouted out, before the end of this match?

Nadal looks a bit nervous in the beginning, making a few loose errors. Needs to sweat a bit and tighten his game. He especially needs to attack Hewitt´s forehand.
