Who will win?
Rafa, of course.
I was surprised to see that Monaco got bounced out in straight sets in the second round (I assume he had a bye in the first).
Tsk tsk, Monaco.
Monaco has wrist problems, he had to be infiltrated to play davis cup, and ruffin is a really good player, he will be top 40 I think this year or more.
Bub looking good.. will win the Golden Slam
I'm looking forward to this, it's been far too long since we last saw Nadal.
I'm also interested in seeing how well he adapts to the rule changes regarding time between points. I suspect it won't be as big a deal as we might think, but it'll be interesting nonetheless.
I think "some bub" has a chance. From what I saw of Nadal yesterday he was less than impressive.
Nadal in 0 (guy is too afraid). That's how most of his opponents react anyway.
Just ask Fed. 8)
damned... you got me: i thought that he was really back and was playing against the nadal. :?
now we're talking about non-fake injury:
coming back to viña del mar... delbonis ?
i saw him playing tipsarevic in madrid last year... this young lefty argentine didn't look bad. might not the easiest opponent for the nadal in a 1st match...
hopefully peak delbo will show up and tear the nadal into pieces as peak delpo would.
Sergei is NO easy win for Nadal. He is very talented and has a promising career. He is SON OF Sergey Bubka who is the GREATEST pole vaulting in history of pole vaulting. He is the GOAT of pole vaulting.
So this guy has some good genes. Also I saw him play on hard courts. He plays a lot like Marat Safin. Very powerful and precision game. Not sure how he will do on clay courts though.
And do you guys know if this Match will be LIVE streamed anywhere ?
I'll be watching from here at work if I can find a stream, when does this start?
Edit: yes, there are streams on livescorehunter
What time does it start, eastern or pacific time ? and I like this guy Sergei. Its gotta be tough to live up to his father's expectations. His father is the GOAT of his sport and National HERO in Russia.
Can you post one here?
Everyone lets remember this brilliant prediction and tell her about it every single time she makes another one.
You must be psyched man
It's great to see Rafa on court again.
Well he just walked onto the court. No sign of a limp.
left knee has a support
You have no idea man, it's about freaking time!
Would you still be psyched if Rafa loses to this Talented player with GOAT of pole vaulting as his father.
Great stream here:
I hope that Nadal destroys this kid 0 and 0, its good to see him back playing.
Tennis channel has only one announcer for this.
Stadium looks 100% full. People are still coming in to sit.
Be quiet Fedace.
I'm so excited to finally see him play again!!
He might a lose a single game at the start of the match due to some early jitters but yeah 6-1 6-0 sounds about right.
Nadal isn't in body cast, seems to have full functionality of all his limbs, etc. so obviously injury was fake.
The mental part was real.
I was being sarcastic.
LOL @ depth of Nadal shots!
uh oh Nadal down 0-1
I knew Nadal will lose the 1st game. Ok 6-1 6-0 it is.
It's too bad Nadal just wasted 6 months of his prime and 2 Slam opportunities. These months don't ever come back. The window is small for physical players like Nadal to really accumulate the titles, especially with the intense level of growing competition. After beating Djokovic 3 times on clay, even with the Wimbledon loss, he should've been there at the USO and AO to try to crack Djokovic even more. Instead he had a 6 month holiday while Djokovic won a Masters, a WTF and a Slam and is now even more confident and playing better than before. On top of that, Murray's just made massive inroads on the top players, having won the Gold and the USO.
Nadal should've been there trying to stop both of these guys from gaining confidence and improving their games.
Now he has to not only work double hard to improve his own form but work even harder than that to try to gain any kind of edge on the younger guys who've elevated their games during his absence.
boner up a break
Come on Rafa.
Delbonis plays well
i wonder if rafa will retire if he loses this match
LOL Nadal GOATING!
Not looking good.
Nadal's just getting use to conditions. He'll wipe this scrub out easily.
Rafa esta muy inoxidable no?
He needs to use some pole vault to jump around. That would really help
Bad luck pal.
Great start from the Bub.
i don't know how psyched rafa is to defend points next year here
 A moonballing exhibition. Crap tennis!
Ok early match jitters and nerves are done. Nadal in 6-2 6-0.
Wait, I thought this way supposed to be way better than entire AO.
I love Nadal's forehand in this match. I get the feeling he'll really make Delbonis pant today.
He looks a bit heavy footed out there today, but I'm sure he'll look a lot better as the match progresses.
I'm actually rooting for the guy today
Delbonis serving at 2-1 double faults twice...Nadal thrilled
Thanks for the stream!
Nadal with break point. It's all over for Delbonis.
