Nadal waiting for Djokovic burnout

Yes but you said that Djokovic's success is due to Nadal's burn-out which is not true as Djokovic cam into power in 2011.

If you want you can now make the statement that after Nadal burned out Djokovic started dominating even more, with which I would agree.

Yeah, that is what I meant.

Maybe Djokovic ascend to the top "helped" Nadal to burn-out?

Just a thought.

That's a good point actually. It's all well and good people saying that Djokovic is benefitting from Nadal's decline in the last couple of years but perhaps it was due to Novak pushing him to the brink physically in so many big matches between 2011-14 which accelerated that decline in the first place.

The decline is mental (Nadal is actually not that tough (meaning far from the extent that some here believe him to be) mentally) and it accentuated the not so big physical decline.

It was Djokovic who waited for Nadal burnout..

To an extent he had to see off the Nadal resurgence from 2013, which he did.
But Nadal himself said that all he could do was wait for Djoker to drop his level, after 2011-2012 AO...
The fact that Nadal has burnt out quicker than Djoker, is testimony to Novak's tenacity and willingness to reinvent himself, which he did in 2015.
