Nadal will be getting a plaque to recognizes his GOAT achievements at Foro Italico

Hitman

Bionic Poster
Nadal's 10 titles will be immortalized in the Eternal City, as it has been confirmed that there will be a tribute to Nadal amongst all the statues and symbols at Foro Italico.

He will be getting a plaque and a tribute piece which will be put on permanent display at the Rome masters.

Congratulations to the Rome GOAT, fully deserved for his iconic achievements. I doubt his record is gong to be broken any time soon.

It's crazy to me that Novak has won Rome 6(!!!) times and is literally a distant second there. Unreal

What's even more crazy is that they have both played 12 finals each, meaning Djokovic has won the exact amount of semi finals as Nadal, but Nadal is 10 out of 12 in finals, and Djokovic is only 6 out of 12.

And then there are people who are upset because Nadal received such a great ovation a few days ago in Rome, not only being the player with the most titles there by far, but also establishing a mystical imprint that will be very difficult to match for generations to come.
:D

But Djokovic accounts for both of Nadal's finals losses.

Isner did get to several M1000 Finals before that win in Miami in 2018 (IW, Cincy, Bercy, etc). So he wasn't a complete "one shot wonder" like Popyrin or Fognini or Mensik
The ultimate one hit wonder in the masters was Roberto Carretero, the 1996 Hamburg champion.

There was also Albert Portas, the 2001 Hamburg champion, nicknamed the Dropshot Dragon, who beat Hewitt 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, in the semi final, and then beat Ferrero 4-6, 6-2, 0-6, 7-6, 7-5, in the final. Portas at least peaked at number 19 in the world, whereas Carretero never got into the top 50!

Rafa is so epic in Rome. He really loved it there

And Zverev has won Rome twice, beating Djokovic in the 2017 final.
Hasn't Zverev also won Madrid 2 or 3 times too?? His clay record is actually underappreciated

Felix Mantilla (who beat Fed in Rome in 2003) also has to make the list. Of all the Rome Finals that Fed lost, that's the most baffling

Those 2005 and 2006 Rome Finals were two ofq the greatest matches on the ATP tour in my opinion. Winning that tournament 5 times in 6 years is just insane. I think the 2019 win over Djoko was 3 sets, but Nadal won his two sets 6-0, 6-1

He already has Centre Court named after him in Barcelona.

Probably next big naming of something will be Monte Carlo. He's won what - 11 or 12 there? And most impressively - 8 in a row. Nobody has 8 consecutive titles on any court.
Good point!

At least Mantilla was a former French Open semi finalist, in 1998, and had a rivalry with Muster that year. Mantilla was also an Australian Open quarter finalist in 1997 and won 5 clay titles that year. Whereas Portas only won 1 career singles title on the main ATP tour, that being 2001 Hamburg. Carretero did even worse still, as he won a lot less than Portas on the Challenger tour.

I think the 2019 win over Djoko was 3 sets, but Nadal won his two sets 6-0, 6-1
Yes. Nadal beat Djokovic in the 2019 Rome final, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1.
