Nadal will not retire in 2024

If he is back to a decent level, he will try to continue as long as possible until his body finally gives out once and for all. Despite his words about quality of life and whatnot, actions speak louder. He is making yet another comeback despite living in pain "every single day." Like Federer and Murray, he will not voluntarily retire while still capable of playing.

No. I think he is done this year. He has barely even played, and probably won't play much at all after RG. He just can't stay healthy long enough to keep going.
Perhaps if he can’t stay healthy. But if he does manage to get back to a decent level, he will not call it quits. He absolutely values trying to win more slams above long term quality of life.

Nadal plays to win GS like Federer or Djokovic, not to play at "decent level" and make a quarter final in a 250, especially if it makes his injuries worse.

Nadal has been announced for the Laver Cup which could be his last professional tournament.
RG '24 would be more fitting- and pleasingly sooner. Raffers could ask his Saudi backers to make up the appearance fee difference.. surely they'd be amenable.

I also have this feeling, however he's not far off from another significant injury that will finally and once for all break the camel's back.

"I think" is often implied when a separate source is not cited.
And without it, it's clickbait.

"Novak to retire in August"
"Federer to come out of retirement"
"IOC to retroactively remove Murray's Gold Medals"

Sure, I'll know when I open the thread that it's one rando's opinion. But until then it seems like it's actual news.

His body is telling him "please no more. I can't take it anymore". It's two decades playing at an insanely high level.

His level and performance at Roland Garros 2024 will determine for him a glimmer of enthusiasm to continue for another season.
:)

The height of the Fedal rivalry were some of the most fun and memorable days in tennis history :D
