Nadal will NOT win FO 2021

As the title says. I have this feeling that Nadal will not win this time. Each time he achieved a streak of 4-5 FOs in a row it got broken. Also 13 is a very unlucky number and Nadal is now cursed to stay at 13 FOs.

Nadal fans will need Nadal to cakewalk this years US Open in order to get the sole Slam record.

Feel free to bump this thread after FO.
Think about how GOATY this is

Each time a streak initiates it will get broken.
We should bump this thread every year Rafa does not win RG for the rest of time.

Prove it by posting your betting slip. All people that post these kind of threads should back it up by something ;) You can lay Nadal at Betfair for few thousand euros and multiply the money when he loses.
i'm afraid very few people know what this betting stuff is all about here, and goldenmasters is not one of them;)

Besides Djokovic at his absolute best, who can beat him? We don't have a single great clay specialist on tour, all the NextGenners are hardcourt specialists.

Everybody wants to be the first to predict the big upset but threads like these are hollow guesses based on the pure statistical fact that eventually he is going to have to lose. But don’t think you deserve any validation if this happens to be the year you guessed right.

The only person who can beat Nadal on clay, is Djokovic. In a Bo3 he can do it when in good form. In Bo5 he will have to be in PEAK form, and Nadal not so much.
In other words, the only person who can beat Nadal on clay in Bo5, is Nadal himself.

Djokovic at his absolute best can't beat him, as we already saw in the RG 2012 final, RG 2014 final and the RG 2020 final. Nadal has never lost a RG final to Djokovic.

Not in a RG final though. Djokovic has never won a RG final against Rafa, and the last one was a massacre for the Serbian.

But he has lost to Djok. And if there is ANYONE out there who can beat Nadl at RG it is Djok, maestro Taxi driver.

Not really. Djokovic's best on clay was in 2011, 2015 and 2016. I'm not saying Nadal can't do it, of course he can and he's the favorite but still, Djokovic at his absolute has his chances against Nadal at RG unlike everyone else on the tour.

He won FO 2020 in the worst conditions imaginable with no prep tournaments on the clay apart from rome, roof closed for entire duration of final when we know he does not excel indoors and dude rarely played prior to FO due to the lockdown. And despite all of this he won without losing a set. If anything, he is more of a lock now to win this edition of the FO more than ever, it would take a monumental like effort to beat him yet again.

Going by your logic (which is rather poor logic), he won 5 in a row between 2010-2014. He's on 4 in a row right now, so he could easily win 1 more.

I feel that at this point he is even bigger favorite than he ever was and that's saying something. He pretty much knows he's not going to get a free GS title anywhere else with Novak & Co. very much capable of beating him on all other surfaces, he'll stack all his chips here. At times in the past I felt like someone can beat him and Soderling did and there was an odd match here or there on other clay tournaments but in 2020 I felt like he was a lock for the title.

I'd never do this. Being owned is enough without being out two grand as well

Can’t see it happening. He’s actually a bigger favourite than he ever was. Rafa is just way too good at the french and he has no rivals capable of pushing him now. Even prime Djokovic and federer could push him to take a set in the past but no one can even do that now.

Thiem is the supposed hope but he couldn’t even make it to Rafa last year. I guess it depends on thiems mentality but he could have already peaked and lost motivation since his slam win. I can’t see anyone else threatening him.

Only an injury, a freak DQ or a random loss of form could derail him but seems unlikely.

Zverev, Tsitsipas, Medvedev are all players who own Nadal right now. Not just Thiem.

Z,T&M own Nadal huh? Especially at the French. It will take a group effort to beat Nadal at the French. By that I mean getting sets off of him in earlier rounds and making him work. Sort of like the 2018 USO. Then DT or ND may have a chance. You have to grind Nadal down and no one has the overall mental and physical game to do so on their own.

It will be hot and dry this June in all likelihood not 12c damp conditions that kill his spin. He won last year without dropping a set.
If anyone gets him to a TB let alone wins a set ill be stunned. Rafa has a glorious chance to get 21. I doubt he misses it.
Djokovic fans do not like FO 2020 final being mentioned but it is so significant as for years people have said Nadal was lucky to avoid Djokovic and he win because Thiem and Djokovic have been in same half. Last year, in conditions that didnt suit him he had Thiem in his half and then faced Djokovic in the final.
Any lingering doubts have been utterly destroyed. Only way Rafa fails to win FO 2021 is if he is injured (to avoid this she should skip Miami) or if covid causes tennis to be suspended.
