Ok try to guess his final result at Wimby... I think it depends on the draw, and it's hard to guess... I'll say he will win W it would be unexpected for sure :D

Courier said today he doesn't think Rafa will play Wimbledon after this year because of his knees. His opinion is that the grass hurts his knees and he will sit out grass after this year. Interesting opinion.
I think nobody think of high result so iťs normal for him to think that.. but overall hard may hurt his knees more cause on grass you can somehow slide

I would think that. I believe Nadal last year was confident heading into W, and in his mind he was going to give it a right good go, but obviously fell short, and you could tell how disappointed he was after it.
I do believe that he wont play grass too much longer, as its always been knows he struggles with his knees on grass most.
Probably will give it another crack this year and that's it if he bows out early again.

But grass is the softest surface for body and least injuries are caused on it....

Nadal is playing Queen's as far as I know so I'm guessing he'll be at Wimbledon barring any injuries or fatigue from his Clay exploits.

A solid draw will get him to the Quarter Finals.

Comments from Navratilova on how the courts may play this year:

Not if you have bad knees . Low bouncing ball, and conditions that have less grip while running = disaster for knees.
So clay the surface having requirements of bending the knees most and sliding and slipping in the surface is not dangerous for knees?? Huh....
Just because his vip box ROS position, moonballing, cheap techniques, grinding can not work on grass anymore, rafa gives wrong excuses...
This does not suit an ATG like rafa

Not sure why anyone wastes time replying to you, but ill bite.
Have you ever played tennis on grass or clay? Don't you notice the difference?

Grass yes...
HC yes... (Both at college)
Clay...no never

Well in my honest opinion, I think grass is the toughest surface to play on, if youre not physically fine.
Now im no spring chicken myself, but id rather play a match on clay than grass these days. Just my opninion.
I think Nadals flexibility is a big issue for grass.

Then I think it maybe depends upon one's body
As I found grass as the best for me.... I was not a top notch player though..but still reached a F in inter-college tournament on grass:D:D

Avoiding Fed to keep up the H2H. Smart move.

Rafa said that, might even have been last year. Getting down low to the ball was a problem, seemed to be hinting that if his recent grass trends continue that he might give it up. I think he will sooner rather than later, but would guess that he’ll wait till about 34/35.

This depends heavily on the draw but when you start getting towards the round of 16 or quarters you start getting down to the elite grass players that can cause him problems on that surface.

I wouldn't mind if Rafa sat out Wimby but he is very competitive and loves to play everything if he is fit.

all depends on the French open...if he wins the title in paris then I'm going to say like last year that he will make the final at Wimbledon...if he loses in paris then I say he will withdraw from queens and wimbledon

Best case scenario 4R.

If he makes second week, that's a huge success in my book.

rooting for Rafa throughout the year is interesting.

Come clay season it's supporting a big 4 player. HC seasons, it's like supporting Delpo or Wawrinka.

Grass season, it's like supporting Dimitrov on clay.

Then it would be tougher for fed rather than nads
No. Federer is not the one with the chronic knee issues.

On topic, Nadal played the best be's played at WB since 2011 last year. He got ousted by a redlining Müller who used his serve beautifully, but even so the match was basically a coin toss. If he plays the same this year anything could happen IMO. You could see the disappointment in his face after the Müller match, he had had been feeling great on the green stuff for the first time in more than a lustrum and to go out like that...

How do you prepare your knees to be at peak state for clay season? I don't get it?

His knees aren't a constant problem, they get ground down by his playing style and probably a bit of overplaying during the season. The clay season comes fairly early on in the year so he has had a break and a tune up of his game at AO, IW & Miami. If there are any injury concerns, like this year (skipping IW & Miami), he will take a break to ensure that he is 100% for the clay swing.

Well. I certainly hope it's not a Fedal Final. The very thought of it is inclining me to retire to a darkened room for the whole month!!

He will probably receive another huge cake draw and play consecutively all the spaniards (minus Feli), so it is hard to tell.

What is becoming obvious is that all the dangerous players on the surface, plus a couple of big hitters will be "somewhere else", or will be battling each other for the honour to reach the Bull in the QF/SF stage.

Courier knows nothing.

Nadal will not miss Wimbledon. Not yet.

Maybe in 3 years he will be "injured" for the tournament again, but not now.

For some reason I think he's still got one more good run in him.

Not picking him to win the tournament or anything but let's say SF this year.
