Nadal's 2013 achievements highlighted by weak era.

Look at the field he faced -

1)Djokovic-Mentally crippled and declined too. Even straight
setted by Murray at Wimbledon. He showed
shadows of what he was in 2011 and Nadal
straight setted by Serb twice after USO
including WTF final.

2)Murray 2.0- This opponent Nadal never faced in 2013 as
majority of year he was injured. Nadal was
lucky as Never faced Murrendl, specially at
USO where Murray was defending champion
and knocked out in QF as he was injured.
I've doubt Nadal can beat healthy Murray 2.0
on any surface except clay.

3) Federer- His back injury troubled him throughout the
the year. He was loosing to players like
Robredo,so how can we expect from him to
challenge PRP bull.

4) Del Potro - Faced him twice and got destroyed In shanghai.

5)Other Field- As usual Berdych is happy with fangirling
around him,Tsonga injured, Wawarinka was
evolving his game under guidance of Norman.

6) Young Stars- No fight from young players like dimitrov
tomic,Raonic except Dimi managed to take
set on clay also.

In 2014 Field is much stronger as Djokovic with Becker,
Healthy Murray with Lendl, Fed burg, New star Wawarinka,
Healthy Tsonga, Improved Dimtrov even Nishikori are ready to challenge PRP operated Bull.

Now I openly bets he will not achieve half of 2013 as it was
highlighted by Weak Era.

Silly thread. 2014 is stronger because Djokovic has Becker. Really? Djokovic just lost in the AO in the Quarterfinals for the first time in many years.

Keep up the silly threads, they are quite fun!

Also, who is Wawarinka?

In terms of strength, not sure how 2014 will fit into it yet. That's not to say 2013 was a weak year either. I just found there to be better competition at the top in 2011 and 2012, the undercard is largely the same across the last 3 years.

In my opinion 2011 > 2013 > 2012.

Nadal was gone for half of 2012. Also, the slam finals were more competitive in 2013.

Don't you have multiple personality disorder?
40 posts per day are very less considering your standard Wolf. Are you just concentration on just one account? or multiple personality disorder cured?

Any era is weak if you want to discredit it. If you play that card for one player, it's valid for anyone to manufacture a reason why your favorite player's victories aren't valid.

She is a known Murray hater. She also dislikes Nadal intensely, obviously.

Search the forum for posts by fastgrass, Mud Volcano, and Mirror Image. Same person. :)
Lol again same posting style Wolf?
Accusations without proof and with proof is same like Rule
bender and Gentleman. By the way entire forum knows you're TheLoneWolf and all accounts forming an army to troll Federer fans. When mods will understand this?

Wrong way round, all of the slam finals in 2012 went to atleast 4 sets and 2 went to 5. By comparison there were no 5 set finals in 2013 and 2 were over in straights.

2012 has Nadal, Murray, Djokovic and Federer all playing extremely well. Nadal went down after Wimbledon but there was still Murray, Djokovic and Federer. This year Djokovic, Murray and Federer were all worse IMO.

The French SF went to 5 sets, and was one of the most dramatic semifinals on record, with a massive show of force by Nadal in the 5th set. Federer's level was definitely crap though. I don't think Djokovic was worse in 2013 than in 2012. And 2013 rekindled the Nadal/Djokovic rivalry. But I do see how 2013 was not a good year from a Federer fan perspective. And the Wimbledon final was anticlimactic.

Eh? There were two five-set slam finals in 2012 and two tightly-contested four-setters. In 2013 you had an anticlimactic Aus Open final, blowouts at RG and Wimbledon and a disappointing US Open final.

Sorry, I put strong emphasis on the FO and I keep forgetting the Nadal/Djokovic match was a Semifinal. Does it matter though?

One tight match at the FO doesn't make the slams in 2013 more competative.
Overall I agree.

Why did the French Open organizers didn't seed Nadal #1 I don't know.

So far 2014 has been kind of bad also. Poor draws, lots of upsets, and the final was a letdown.

The reality is that it is an extremely weak clay court era with none of the usual European and Latin American nations producing plausible contenders for glory.

The best grass courter in the world was the second best clay courter until quite recently.

Are you saying that Borg's was a weak era?

You need to learn to be relevant to the topic.

I was not assessing the field that Borg faced, only Nadal's field, which included someone called Puerta who was rubbed out of the game for a drug violation.
No. You said until recently the best grass player was the second best clay player, and I called you on it.

Well, it sort of renders your previous point useless. I understand that you're looking at this from a very Nadalcentric viewpoint, but it seems ridiculous to claim that 2013 was a more exciting slam year than 2012.

Are you saying that Borg's was a weak era?
Not sure how this is relevant, either. I'm pretty sure Bartleby's point was that there is a lack of decent clay court specialists/viable contenders. As he saying, a guy whose weakest surface is clay was the second best clay-courter for a number of years. Where does Borg come into this?

Do you think Federer is a bad clay player? If it hadn't been for Nadal, clay wouldn't be Federer's worst surface.

It's not a weak era, what? It's just a slow court era, and Nadal is best on slow courts, including slow Wimby, US Open, all are super slow these days.

I'm a pretty good player, I can tell you Novak, Murray, etc. would barely give me a point, they are INSANELY GREAT TENNIS PLAYERS, can't believe someone would say otherwise.

Play them, see what you think:)
