In his box it looked like at least 3 of them had the same watch. so that's close to $2MM USD right there.

funny thing no? his statement was that all the doors and windows were closed and not forced and the only one who had "permission" to enter were his family and staff, (the thief is in his family?) also said he left it on the nightstand and when he woke up was gone (Xisca in need of money?) did he look under the bed? at least he should have said "we did a full search of the room and nothing"

Maybe he sat on it? Might explain one of his quirks...

the guy cant play tennis by himself and it's his job, how do you expect him to keep track of a valueable watch?

300,000 euros? Seriously, it looks like a budget Casio.

Never knew what brand it was before, but now googling the name and a closer inspection, it's VERY ugly on the face too.

French people stole it from his Toronto dressing room in 2010.
French people stole it from his Paris hotel room in 2012.

She is not being paid enough in the "contract." :)

there is a lesson to learn here, "always wear your watch" why doesn't he wear it, it's worth so much money, it must go with everything, i mean just wear it, that way no one else can get it unless they mug you, rob you on the spot or in the most extreme case shoot you dead and grab it off his wrist.

He's hoping the company that makes it will stop giving them to him and making him play while wearing it. The original version bothered him because of the strap. This year, they changed that strap to a cheap looking velcro looping one. Now that one got "stolen". Hummm... ok. Sure. An OCD person getting his stuff stolen is about as normal as the moon crashing into the earth once a year. Trust me, ain't going to happen. We have systems to keep track of our crap and check about a billion times. You don't see his bottles going missing, do you? lol

it probably fell in one of the lakes at the back of the court during the final... now it's probaby been eaten by a vampire squid, nadalfailqueen or some other peculiar and primitive creature.

poor humbalito, will they give him another one ?

They better.

Nadal will boycott Richard Millie otherwise.

Doubt Rafa is going to go hungry because he got robbed. Just buy another !
He didn't buy this one :)

Well, it's not always the same. Half the time I don't know where I've left things.

From Rafa's presser after they found the watch: " well, it's the greatest watch in the world,no? I'm happy to have it back, no? Thank you french policia, no?"

I never understood why players wear watches during matches to begin with.

Do they have to be somewhere, or are they expecting someone to show up at any specific time?

You'd have to pay me to wear a watch if I was playing.

Oh, I get it now.

Why would anyone need such an expensive watch? And Nadal fans like to make fun of Federer for wearing nice clothes...

İt is a marketing tool it is as simple as that.
I think so too. That watch may be expensive but it's anything but attractive. Infact it's plain creepy. So I guess you need these marketing stunts to tell everyone that there's a Richard Mille watch worth big dollars and Rafael Nadal was endorsing it.

I think so too.
But according to the press someone got arrested.

The luxury watch worth € 300,000 stolen, earlier this week, in the room of a hotel 's Parisian player tennis Rafael Nadal was found on the evening of June 12 in the Essonne. Reportedly, the jewel - lent to the tennis player during the tournament at Roland Garros by the brand Richard Mille - was discovered, around 21:30, hidden in a grassy area, along a path station at Evry (Essonne ).
Investigators from the 1st District judicial police in charge of investigations, managed to find this watch after the arrest of an employee of the hotel in which Rafael Nadal lived in the eighth arrondissement. The suspect was betrayed by his magnetic badge that allowed him to enter without breaking in the player's room.
Apparently the guy entered Rafa's room while he was sleeping.

jeez if it wasn't for these stories about how this "exclusive" expensive "rare" watch was "stolen" Again! nobody would even know anything about this thing nor would they care. But when it's stolen, the Nadal camp is sure to let the "world" know it's missing. the press release reads like a commercial for the watch maker. You never hear that Roger's Rolex was stolen. Because it's cheap and nobody wants such a pedestrian timepiece. What a comical contrived farce.

Nobody makes fun of Fed for wearing nice clothes. It's that horrible Liberace get up from Wimby that people make fun of,and for good reason. That outfit was so ridiculous and pretentious he was just begging to get the sh*t taken out of him for wearing it.
