Nadal's Greatest Achievement?

Today is Nadal's greatest challenge. He starts as a massive underdog. He has barely played any tennis all year. He is playing the No.1 player in the world who has thrashed him here before and who is unbeaten this year. The court conditions, the weather, the balls, the absence of a large crowd all favour Djokovic. The last time they played in a slam final Nadal was destroyed.

If Nadal wins today -and is proclaimed current greatest slam player due to his massive h2h lead over Federer in slam meetings -it will be his greatest achievement.

Yes without doubt. Lose and it does not mean much due to the unique circumstances. It really is a free event for Nadal. He should be relaxed and just go.for it. Everyone has banged on about the conditions being terrible for him. So he has nothing to lose.

AO 09 was his greatest achievement. Beat Fed after he had an extra day of rest to win his first HC slam. Didn’t have a cupcake draw either

What was the draw? I cannot remember? Verdasco in semis i remember. I would argue Del potro is semis in 2017 at US was harder.

Verdasco hit 92 winners or something in that match. He was ZONING. Delpo 2017 can’t even compare
Had a pretty good match against Gonzalez and Simon. Closer than the score lines suggest

So what now defines a cup cake draw? Is it not the name of the player but how they play on the day that counts? Fogini v Nadal in US 2015 hit over 100 winners i think. Does Nadal get credit for taking him to 5 sets?

How many majors has Verdasco got? How many m1000s? How many slam semi finals? How many wins over a world no.1.
Then compare how many Del Potro has!
Mate you know what are you even talking about?

Verdasco had 101 Winners and 69 errors. Against Peak defense Nadal in his best or second best HC tournament.

That's +32. Read that again +32.

32 is more than winners aggressive players manage over five sets.

Imagine 101.

Yes, a 12-time champion with a 99-2 lifetime record at the tournament, who hasn’t dropped a set at RG this year, is a massive underdog.

I’d like to have some of what you’re smoking, Gore.

(Also, please stop repeating the lie that Novak Djokovic is unbeaten this year)

The conditions are very different this year though. Him winning 12 titles in a pretty much different tournament is irrelevant. On the other hand, Djokovic won 5 of the last 8 slams, and these conditions suit him much more. Of course Djokovic is a massive favorite.

But Del Potro is a better player. Have you checked their careers. What ranking was Verdasco?
Anderson after USO 2017 went on to be top 5 such was his form at the time. Did verdasco?

What was Nadal's record at RG when Djokovic wiped him out 3 sets to love?

Are you saying he wasn't underdog that day?

All of them. Cant have it both ways mate. Rosol played top 3 tennis when he beat Nadal. So that loss by your argument not a surprise then on the day.

Rosol played great, not sure what your point is? Del Potro in 2017 played one good set before he ran out of gas and played like trash, Verdasco played like a God for five sets. There's no comparison.
