Nadals time violations between points

Federer was behind the enforcement of a rule that had been ignored for decades.

Actually, reliable sources say it was the Flying Spaghetti Monster. He was watching Nadal one day and said "'Lo and behold! Let the rule that has been ignored for decades be enforced again, so it shall favor Federer over Nadal!"

Then, he was boiled for Federer's sins.

You still believe that crap? LOL
who you going to believe; you're silly-strict interpretation of the rules or you lyin eyes looking at every single match that is played (where nearly all the players go longer than 20-25 secs between points if you count right after the point is won or lost)?

don't be ignorant!

Oh boy woodrow... here we were, thinking all the experience you've had as a working umpire amounts to something - but apparently it isn't worth even 1/8 of DRII's ginormous knowledge bank gained from the hedgerows.. lol

never use hedgerows in a sentence again.

free advice...

I am timing the Murray vs Del Potro match and both of them are routinely over 20 secs (25+ on many occasions actually) and not a single comment from the commentators. I can guarantee that they aren't playing any faster than Nadal or Djokovic. Funny how if it's not Nadal or Djokovic commentators don't ***** about it.

only time the word "hedgerow(s)" is appropriate is when singing Stairway to Heaven.

Other than that, yes it should banned.
I have no idea what idiomatic meanings there may be for the word in your neck of the woods, but since idioms are very much a propos to specific areas, and since there is no alternative meaning where I live, I am free to use the word as recognised in standard English usage.
hedge·row
ˈhejˌrō/
noun
plural noun: hedgerows
  1. a hedge of wild shrubs and trees, typically bordering a road or field.
I am certainly not constrained in usage of a word by its meaning elsewhere in the world which may be different from where I live, in the same way as I would not seek to impose meanings and proscribe usage specific to my world area on yours

"If you want to play well, you have to let players breathe a little. We're not machines that cannot think. That's my viewpoint," said Nadal, who repeatedly falls foul of the rule which stipulates a maximum 25 seconds between points.

Strange that Fed doesnt have this problem. If nadal can think, why does Tony send him signals from the stands?

... again ?
...... and again ?

Please explain to me how he "cheats" besides stealing hours of your time that you wish he was losing? ;)

How is that cheating ? Nadal doesnt issue the warning nor apply the rules, thats the umpires job.

Because deliberately ignoring a rule of the game is cheating, even if the umpire doesn't enforce the rule.

Ref didn't call it, so according to your logic, it's not cheating right?
