
No, I'm from Puerto Rico (but have lived in US for a looong time), but I can speak Polish. I took a year in college and expose myself to it everyday (reading articles, listening to radio). I don't get to speak it much, though. I'm an avid language lover, generally speaking.
I'll have to give Gorecki a listen. I have to admit, however, that, while I respect classical composers and have been exposed to the music (through my dad...the dude walks around in a Beethoven T-shirt), I don't listen to it much. I'm eager to change this, though. I do love Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique (1st movement?). One of my favorite pieces of music ever. My only extended exposure to classical music has been a music appreciation class I took in college
