Naomi Osaka: "I know that every kid growing up playing tennis in the world has pretended to be Nadal at least once."

Osaka looks to Nadal as she unveils new clay-court approach in Madrid

Most notably, Osaka revealed she might even try to incorporate some things she's learned from watching Rafael Nadal over the years on clay.

"I think I stole one of the things that he did and I’ve been practicing it recently," Osaka said. "It’ll either go really good or really bad. There’s like no in between. But I think as I’ve been doing it, it’s been going pretty well.

So are we going to see a left-handed Osaka bolo-whip forehand anytime soon? Not exactly.

"[Can you] Imagine? I’ve actually been warming up kind of left-handed but I don’t think that’s a skill that’s going to show itself anytime soon. It’s just like for technical reasons. If I hit left-handed forehands, it’s easier to hit a backhand if that makes sense.

Not only twitter and WTA site are for Osaka's "news" but also ATP now. If you want to read Naomi's views the men's tennis site's the one; she wants to play like a man too...not play just like Nadal but she wants to serve like Kyrgios :LOL

Yeah she can add use spin to her shots and work on defensive slices. She always runs and hits or leaves it.

Once she unlocks the secrets to playing like Nadal with Kyrgios's serve, she'll dominate WTA and ATP alike.

Does she want to do anything like Djokovic?

Except if Bernardes is umpiring. Then she can just get him fired.
But Rafa will never disrespect an umpire, he would go through the official channels if the umpire does a bad job by making him change his shorts on court wrapped in a towel.

Lol.....this silly tit for tat is getting boring. Try and develop a sense of humour where your idol is concerned (why does this seem to be beyond so many RafaFans?) Never heard that story about Murray before either.

If you paid more attention to what your idol does you won't be throwing stones from your glass house.

We'll see what she's going to play in her 1st round match tomorrow vs Potapova who's just won Istanbul last week.

Listen to yourself. Who's throwing stones? I make a harmless joke and you immediately see red and start looking for something on Murray you imagine you can retaliate with. Grow up!
It may be harmless to you but it is unpleasant. You enjoy dishing it out but you can’t take it.

Kid? I did it last year, the only time I've played on a clay court. Whipping my forehand, picking my butt, lining up my bottles like a champ :) Won the match, too, mostly because my husband couldn't stop laughing at me.

Unpleasant only to you because you're utterly humourless. I can laugh at Murray, you think it's a sacrilege if anyone dares to laugh at your beloved Rafa. The irony is that, unlike you, Rafa has a sense of humour and can laugh at himself.

I‘ve started taking a long time between points when I serve - to the point that opponents complain. Everyone wants to be like Nadal;)

Man I am a big Rafa fan and even I am saying you need to chill and enjoy some of the jokes and not get triggered everytime someone even remotely mentions Nadal. Relax. Youre too old for all this
