Nasdaq-100 Open *Spoilers*

Hmmm. Both Haas and Fed are in "trouble" in 2nd set, i.e. they are still on serve instead of having their way with their opponents.

...posting from Nasdaq... MAn, really a bad match for Horna but I have to say that Haas plays a better tennis and thats why he is or should be a top 5, now am going to the stadium to see the end of Federe's match

Fed up 4-0 now. Yep, he is definitely playing with a Wilson nSix-One Tour 90 nCode toilet plunger! Oh Clement is phucked now!

Anybody else here thinks that after the tie break Fed said to himself "alright I had enough practise, I am ready to play Haas now" and he then went ahead and bageled Clement :D

Big Roger fan but man, this stuff pisses me off, three sets against Clement?4-0 in the tie-breaker?:mad:Hey 8PAQ, seriously i am sure he didnt want 1 hour and 58 minutes to dispatch of Clement.

I have no doubt in my mind that's exactly what he did.

I know, but Fed almost always seems to play at low level in 1st few rounds unless it is a Slam where he usually has more time to prepare before the 1st round. Plus Clement is a decent player. After all he did beat Nadal this year. I just hope that Fed now has enough feel for the court in Miami to take care of Haas. I am sure he will take next match very seriously.

nice try... no pro worth his salt would do that.. they have way too big ego..

It is really important for Fed to win this tournament. If he does then he will have 492 Race points compared to 193 for Nadal. This plus the fact that Nadal will now have to deal with the enormous pressure of being the favourite in every clay tournament this year will pretty much mess up Nadal's chances of being #1 this year.

Saying it's "really important" for Fed to win this tournament from a points standpoint might be stretching it a little.

Difference between #1 Federer and #2 Nadal in points race: ~2100 pts.
Difference between #3 Nalbandian and Grimjack: ~2500 pts.

The race ain't exactly nip and tuck.

Edit for mathematical incompetence.

Federer equaled Pete Sampras’ 19-match ATP Masters Series winning streak at the NASDAQ today by beating Clement
To beat it he just needs to beat Haas again.
I bet Fed thrashes him this time.

I meant it was really important from psychological perspective. We all know that Nadal's goal is to be #1. Fed's win in Miami will only add to the pressure Nadal will be feeling in the claycourt season where he has an incredible number of points to defend.

WOOOOOW! Go Guille! I'm so happy for him. Hope this is his comeback. I think he really needed a win badly...and without double-faults. Great!

This totally made my day :D .

Federer did look out of sorts, and I wonder if he allowed his concentration to flag due to HawkEye. He didn't seem too enthusiastic about it at the end of the match. Hopefully, he will get it all together against Haas.

Clement was hustling quite well, not giving too many free points on important ocassions even though he was visibly the more tired player of the two. Or perhaps, its the court adjustment factor. The ball seems to bite of the court more than in Indian Wells. Many of his forehands went long, and one of them was followed by a perfectly audible, "What the.." but no third word was heard or spoken.

And you seem to forget there's a slight difference between Goldstein and Ljubicic :D

It's Davis Cup, baby. David has only lost ONE singles match in Davis Cup, his first one, against SAFIN, in Russia ;)

Btw, David's crushing Berdych, 6-1, 5-0, 40-love :D in the last two sets...

Is Mcenroe in miami? He pronounces it the right way, David!! 32 unforced errors by David, less, he should be in the semis if he keeps them down and plays his game.

Well his game is very good, its very raw now, he has a big forehand, also he has alot of power on his serve, its very inconsistent now.His girl is hot as well:mrgreen:
