Natural Gut questions

So I bought a few sets of Pacific Gut and KLIP a while back, previously I was given a set of Wilson Natural gut and when I strung it up I noticed it was clear almost white. When I received these strings I noticed they are more yellow. I noticed Prince and Babolat were similar to the Wilson GUT, I was wondering if any of company made gut that was more white like the Babolat, Prince and Wilson gut. I was told the reason the Pacific and KLIP Gut was yellow was it had a lot of fat. Not sure if its true wanted to know everyone's opinion! Thanks!

I'm getting ready to order some Gut (NGW Gut) I've found that is at a unbelievable low price. I've never heard of it and I'm just wondering if anyone else has or if anyone has any experience with it. I would hate to order something just to waste my money...

Super low price has been indicative of Indian gut manufactured by Emerson and Tiplop, so far as I have seen. There is fluctuation in prices of strings coming from major first-world suppliers (Babolat, Klip, Pacific and Bow Brand) but absolutely nothing that is extremely inexpensive. So far as being a waste of money, who knows? Since it is so inexpensive by comparison, you may find that it represents good-enough value for you. They are less consistent in gauge, less durable and more prone to breaking during stringing -- but they are dirt cheap. I have known several people who really like these types of strings.

Thanks for your input! I believe at 1/3 the regular price I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes. It is inexpensive enough that a good poly costs more.

Cheap gut

It is buyers beware. You may be getting a great value or crappy product.
As a general rule I would suggest: if you string yourself feel free to try cheap gut BUT if you pay for stringing, it may not be a value if it breaks after 1 hour of play. Cost of stringing will offset lower string cost.
My opinion only.

I will string for myself so I'm venturing into new territory for myself. I'm looking forward to trying different string combo's and different tensions. Who knows, I may find one that sets my game on fire.....

I hope for your sake the NGW Gut that you may purchase is not an acronym for "Not Gonna Work!"

Here's my 2 cents - the yellowing is due to the KLIP/Pacific Gut not being coated. True gut is never plain white and since it is not a synthetic string, the degree of color variations are more susceptible to change.

Hardly. Pacific Tough Gut has an extremely robust coating, since it is triple sealed.
