NBA 2018-19: Dynasty Season 5; Can The Carrington Warriors Defend???

In before @donquijote on the Doncic near trip-dub...21/9/10 as the Mavs edged NOP 122-119. The Mavs bench outscored the Pelicans backups 47-24 with Barea and Harris tossing in 34 of those points.
Was he going to be the first teenager to post a triple double in.. god know how many years?
His shooting percentage is going down lately. I did not watch the match but I can imagine they give the bomb to his hands before the shot clock expires and his 3-pt shot selection is not that great.
Just checked and see there is only one teen in NBA history that have achieved this. Markelle Fultz of 76ers, last year in the last match of the season 13-10-10.

No Santa Bron for most of the second half? No problem! Rajon the substitute Reindeer steps in and drills the champs. LBJ hobbled to the locker room at 7:51 of the third and GSW went to work in cutting the 14-point lead to just 2 before Rondo took charge and drubbed the Curryists in the last 14 minutes. 127-101.

Gotta wonder if Father Thyme has finally cooked The King’s goose. If the groin is ripped it will be his first missed game since the ‘16-‘17 regular season. He seemed to be in some real discomfort and lip reading commentators claimed he was saying he felt “a pop.”
Lakers rout Warriors on the road. Without Lebron in second half. Maybe Lakers can make it close and competitive when they meet in playoffs!!
9 straight NBA finals for The King!!

They’re winning tonight without James AND Rondo, who really bailed them out vs GSW after the champs cut the lead to two. It’s no coincidence they started playing better after Rondo returned to the lineup from his first injury. The guy is like a playing coach on the floor. They need to pick up a 3-point threat at the trade deadline to really threaten.

GSW is shooting horribly from the arc (KT and Green in particular) and that’s what killed them Christmas Day (9 of 36). That will get fixed. Still the favorites.

GSW falls again, this time at Portland in OT when The Dame drills a trey with six seconds left and KD ruins his trip-dub night by missing a 12-footer at the buzzer FTW.

In a night of many near trip-dubs it’s Vucevic’s 30/20/8 with 2 steals, 1 block while turning over just once and fouling once as The Magic whack visiting Association-leading Toronto by 29.

Other close stat sheet stuffers:

Unibrow went for 48/17 while Jrue Holiday fed him well with 18/7/8 before fouling out in the Pelicans 2-point win over the Mavs.

Justise Winslow won fast and furious with 24/11/7 while Adebayo bammed off the bench (18/9/5). Miami routed the Cavs by 24.

KAT went 31/19/5 but T-Wolves lose to ATL in OT.

Jokic goes 21/9/9 before fouling out in the tight Denver win over SAS.

RW goes 40/12/8 to counter Devin Booker’s 25/7/10 as OKC cruises vs Phoenix.

Finally, Sweet Lou staples LAL in The Clip Joint in 30 minutes off the bench with 36/7/3 as LABron sipped Chablis on the bench. LAkers will be without Rondo for a month after finger surgery. It’s Lou’s city for the next month.

Jamal Murray flirted with 50 again but this time he didn’t get pressed by Kyrie for a last second trey attempt...he had 46 and they haven’t added a 4-point line yet. Nuggets won 122-118 in Phoenix. Jokic finished 23/8/9, flirting with the trip-dub again.

Kemba Walker outdid Murray by two but Charlotte lost in Washington 130-126.

The Golden State Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight fixed their sights and routed the Blazers in Rip City. KT led the way with 32 on 12/21 with 4/5 treys. The Dame had 40 in the loss.

He got it done next time! A very rare type of MVP?

Dallas routs Charlotte on the road with Doncic going big on the glass (18/10/4) and the defense holding the Hornets and Kemba Walker to horrid shooting stats (32/90, 6/32 treys; Walker 11 points on 4/14, 0/5 treys).

TNT Halftime Report will now be called The Round Up after goofy “round up” comment by The Round Mound of Rebound Chuckles Barkley (up by 20 when the lead is 16...”In the NBA we round up.”) Twitter already with a field day on that!

So happy for DeRozan, always classy. Leonard gets the treatment he deserved in his return to San Antonio.
Pop and their shooting coach had a nice long cordial chat with Kawhi after the buzzer. They have moved on, unlike the crowd.

SAS looks good...the transition is gelling after a rough start. Forbes is blossoming in particular. When Murray returns next year they will be real scary.

The Houston Hardens are clawing back into what was a runaway GSW lead and trail by just six as the fourth quarter begins. A 39-point third quarter behind a barrage of treys cut the lead by 11.

GSW blows a 6-point lead with 63 seconds left with lazy defense and poor clock management, hoisting treys with 15 seconds on the shot clock twice. Harden missed a trey to win just before the buzzer and the game goes to OT.

After three quarters, Jokic's report card shows 27/10/6/3/1 and only 1 turnover. Funny he was picked #44 in the draft.
#41 but Denver also got Gary Harris and Jusuf Nurkic in 1R that year and dealt Nurkic to Portland after Jokic sent him to the bench with his improved play. Jokic was a project that has really paid off but he was very green at his draft age.

KT drops 43 on visiting NYK on volume (29 shots) and quality (11/13 from inside the arc; 7/16 treys; 0/0 FTs. GSW wins on an off-shooting (5/19) night for The Chef, 122-95. Curry’s line was 14/7/14 with many of the dimes to Klay.

Big numbers everywhere last night...Harden had 42 but the Rockets lost to the Giannis Bucks with his 27/21 combo; Unibrow had 38/13/7/2/4 in a NOP blowout of the Cavs; Kuzma had 41 points in 29 minutes, sitting the entire 4th quarter to rest his back.

Knox with 31 points against philly. Nice to see him have a huge game against a rival and still not hurt our chances to get Zion. Simmons had a monster game 20/22/9 if only he could develop a jump shot
