Nblade

I have some SERIOUS elbow issues...i have a coach and we are working on my form...i use a fxp prestige and polyester (PHT) strings...would using nat gut strings and an nblade (which i hear is extremely arm friendly) help my elbow at all??

Not until you fix your form. When I first got my nBlade 98s, I did feel some elbow pain because my form was off. Fix your form first, THEN switch. I have to admit, the nBlade is the greatest feeling racquet I've tried.

switch strings definitely... but a new racquet isn't necessary.
REST!
use anti-inflammatory meds.
but to save your joints... go syn gut, multi or gut for a while.

i thought my shoulder was TOAST, but taking a couple of weeks off combined with 2400mg ibuprofen during that time worked miracles.

then, i improved my hitting contact position and when I feel a flare up, I take some time off.

i can use full poly again.... but i regret the times i tried to play through pain. it ain't worth it!!!!! go to the gym and work out for 2 weeks and come back a healthier/better player!

if you want a new racquet... the nBlade is a nice stick.. easy to swing, good power, and for me, amazing spin for 18x20.
I chose the mgRadical since I am partial to Head grip shape.

thanks everyone =]

yeah ive decided not to play for a few weeks and when i get back im gonna string up my prestiges with gut. and then im going to demo the nblade. thanks for the advice megaforcetkd and safina.

i would agree generally that form>gear, but i started playing 2 months back with a head titanium OS/ultra light rack which gave me elbow pain.
after resting a few days, i shifted to heavier racks (Bab PD) the pain went off. even today, If i play for 30 mins with the Head OS i get the pain again.

I am now playing with a PS 6.0 95 and no pain.

so based on my exp, i do think that lightweight/OS racks can cause pain, which a better rack can alleviate.

otoh, i do admit that my trainer often plays with my earlier Head OS rack and loves it.. he has no pain. but a short session with it gives me the pain.

hey wait, what do you mean NOT PLAY FORA FEW WEEKS.

ice the area for a few days, and then start doing forearm exercises. start playing a bit (15 min) within the buondary of pain. so that the muscles don't atrophy.
if you take a few eweks off the arm will weaken and you can again have the problem.
play just enough that the pain does not recur, and slowly increase.
like 15 min for a few days then 30 min etc.

get well soon

prepare to play like **** when you decide to play again. that happened to me.

Dont worry i had to take off 6 months for my elbow earlier (which i am pissed about btw) and when i came back i sucked sooo badly u dont even begin to understand haha

If it hurts to type it needs more than a weeks rest, the more you play with it the longer rest period required.I ended up not playing for a year not fun but if i'd of adjusted my technique/changed to correct grip size and rested earlier i'd never of been out that long.be paitent its a long term issue if you aren't careful.

yeah i know...my doctors and everyone i know that i can trust with tennis advice has told me the same thing like 8 months ago when i had to stop for a half a year.

Is there a reason that my elbow doesn't hurt as much when im playing but the next day its really painful?
