I've listed the sites in order of their projected computer ranking 4/21. I am surprised to see Texas Tech on the list since the team was #21 on computer rankings and #24 on coach list. My best guess on which 4 of these will not make the final 16 host sites would be Texas Tech, Michigan (unless Mich wins Big 10 and then maybe-Mich is currently #30 on computer ranking, projected to be #38 tomo, and #19 on coach poll), at least 1 SEC school, and possibly Stanford depending on results for PAC-12 tourney. Stanford has been playing better recently so I think there will be two less SEC teams as hosts. If those 4 are left out, there would be 5 SEC teams hosting-FL,GA, Tenn, Tex A&M plus one more-either SC or KY, 2 for Big10-Ill and OSU, 2 for PAC-12-USC and Stanford, 3 or Big 12-Baylor, TCU, and Texas, 3 for ACC-UNC, Wake, and UVA, and UCF for the one MM team. The teams who were ranked #17-20 and will not have a chance at hosting regardless of how well they do in conference tourneys are Miss State, Okla State, Tulane, and Alabama. NCAA is looking at both computer and coaches poll or they would not have included OSU, Mich, and Stanford. This seems a reasonable compromise; if NCAA had gone by computer rankings only, SEC could have hosted as many as 7 sites. Having 1 more team in Cal and 1-2 more in ******* should save NCAA from having to spend $ to fly more lower seed teams south or southwest. If NCAA went only by computer ranking, Michigan could possibly be a 3 seed at NCAAs; however I think they will end up at 2 seed. After the conference tourneys, it will be interesting to see the teams ranked around 32 and if NCAA will go with computer or coach poll to decide between 2nd and 3rd seeds. Any updated predictions on who gets to host prior to the Monday selections? Interesting that according to the ITA rankings no Big Ten teams should host. Also interesting that Mississippi State is not on the list above but will likely be a top 16 ITA team (they are #16 in this week's rankings).

I predict Illinois and Ohio State host. This will likely result in a couple SEC teams not hosting who would be otherwise. Should they be mad about this, or is this just life in a pandemic year?

TennisOne live streaming started today for Women's round of 16, but it doesn't work on desk top computer for some reason. do you know why ?

I got TennisOne to "work" on multiple devices including my laptop, but what you get is the same crappy Lake Nona Playsight cameras, overlaid with commentary which consists largely of apologies for technical difficulties, occasionally interrupted with a little tennis insight. And of course, you also give up the ability to switch courts any time you want. My feed dropped entirely several times, sometimes from apparent technical difficulties and others where it appeared to be intentional (they went completely offline during/before the UNC match and didn't come back until halfway through the first sets of singles). I am candidly baffled as to how it is that I can watch at least 10 conference tennis championships on ESPN+; most of which are far more professional and technically competent than what I witnessed yesterday; but for the D1 national championships we're relegated to high school AV department professionalism. Actually a friend of mine runs an award winning high school digital video department and he has 9th graders who would fail his class for this. I already shared my thoughts with the TennisOne folks, who were kind enough to ask me if I was enjoying the app. I asked when they were coming out with an app for streaming professional Cornhole (currently available on ESPN). Thank God I have tickets for the men today.

issue with the streams and commentary should be addressed to USTA and ITA who are joined at the hip on so many of the issues. TennisOne can only do so much with the limitations of quality.

anyone else having slow load time with the tennis ticker on desktop for the matches, seems to take 30-60 sec loading for everything

yeah, garbage, glad I live close enough to go to a few days of this rather than depending on this amateur-hour coverage

Wish Gruskin was commentator for OSU and TCU. The guy on those courts is awful-dry, unemotional, says stuff like procure the victory. Someone needs to tell him he doesn’t get bonus points for using SAT words. Class is over

I have no earthly idea what's going on with the TCU/Baylor match, but this is embarrassingly amateur for TennisOne, or whomever is in charge of screwing things up today. Now Gruskin is apparently broadcasting from his phone or something, and we missed the entirety of the doubles competition; nobody ever stops talking; and you couldn't see the court much less the score. This is really pathetic. I don't know who gets the blame on this one, but it's a sad state of affairs for a national championship competition.

reportedly Dawgie Dawg cut the cable as he was leaving the facility after UGA loss, still waiting on confirmation from local sources

honestly I feel your pain man, there was a time before I started working for UF that I only had a once-good now-bad team to cheer for, was boring this time of year

well, even then the Duke women were usually good, so on second thought I’m not sure what it’s like to have none of my teams make it out of the opening weekend of NCAAs, but sounds bad

That USC vs Texas match was for the ages. What a fight. From both teams. That was better than Davis Cup matches.

as I'm watching these matches. This is very, very high level of tennis. Like that Boitan dude from Baylor against Vale - he did not hold back at all.
What's interesting to me is that some of these guys will try to play professionally - with the style of play they have now. But it seems to me there's so much more rallying in college tennis compared to the pro game. Does it just 'seem' that way to me?

You are correct. It’s something I have noticed as well. The pros are a lot better at using their serve and mixing it up to get quick serve points. It’s one thing college players always have to improve.
Of course a part of that is the line squeezing on calls in college tennis which is most prevalent on serve where it’s more rare for overrules to happen because it’s hard to see if a serve clips the line.
