Best chance for UVA to reclaim the Commonwealth Cup from Va Tech in a loooooooooooong time. My Hokies have a 15 game win streak coming into this year.

Would love to see Michigan beat Ohio St for more chaos. Long shot but Minnesota getting into the playoff would be great. I still think Clemson will be on top when all is said and done.
Best chance UVA has done it! Totally owned the fourth quarter to tie it up, then take the FG lead and then a strip sack TD in the EZ, 39-30.

As a tangential UVA fan for nearly 15 years (my brother's college), this is without a doubt the best moment I've ever experienced as a fan. Honest to god this feels better than the basketball team winning the whole thing last March.

3 sacks in a row to seal the win. It was like something out of a script.

Great game and nice job by UVA to pull it out. Bronco finally has UVA recruiting well again in state. Now they get Clemson.

Bryce Perkins had nearly 500 total yards, using his legs in the first half and then throwing some nice dimes FTW later. His uncle is former Dallas Cowboys FB. Both his father (Bruce) and brother (Paul) played RB in the NFL. Mendenhall picked him up after Bryce had played QB for Arizona State, broke his neck and then restarted his playing days as a JuCo QB for a year. Today was Senior Day for him after two years at UVA.

How closely did you follow their b-ball run though? That was like half a dozen or so miracles in different tournament games coming off a year being the first number 1 seed to lose to a 16 seed. If today’s game was a script that b-ball run was a tv series.

They seriously should have been eliminated like a billion times last year it was uncanny they survived every one.

The three biggest ones that come to mind is a single made FT by Purdue would have sent them home, he missed it. Auburn had a 4 pt lead with 17 seconds left and ended up losing on a missed double dribble call and a questionable foul on a missed 3 at the end of the game, UVA hit all 3 FT's to win by one. And in the National Championship they were down 3 and down to their last possession and tied it up with a 3 and withstood a game winning shot attempt.

There were many more, like being down at half to the 16 seed (tempting fate again but escaping), etc etc.

I watched most of the games during the tournament. Spent most of the time frustrated at them even putting themselves in those losing positions. I can't stand their style of basketball. I appreciate the commitment to defense, but their run down the shot clock and chuck a 3 offense was making us want to throw things at the TV.

I respected the run and their resilience in surviving the games - I edited in the three big moments they could if not should have lost in my post. Have to agree on the style. I cannot dispute its effectiveness but it is boring to watch. Just being honest I would never willingly watch a UVA game unless it was a tournament game versus a pretty good opponent. In the season I cannot stand watching their games. I respect it but it's not my bag.

Nice win for the football team today though. Their football program has been looking pretty good of late.

Thankfully I don't watch regular season college hoops anymore and only tune in for March. I used to when my brother was still there because he'd be at the games and want to talk about them, but that was a long time ago. My own school was Delaware and we don't have any basketball presence so I don't have any rooting interest in the sport outside of tournament time.

Only Harbaugh teams can mess up so thoroughly...a missed PAT, a muffed shotgun snap deep in OSU’s RZ and now an offsides on a 4th&4 punt by the visitors keeps a drive alive. First 2-score margin, 28-13.

Fields goes down with a blow to his knee while delivering a pass in the pocket. Chugunov, a graduate transfer from WVU, is the backup and he makes a nice 3rd down pass to keep the Buckeyes drive going.

Fields returns to the field with a knee brace and on his first play scrambles to his left before throwing a dime into the EZ. 42-16.

What an Iron Bowl! Speed kills and Auburn just gave up 14 points on pure speed to Bama KR/WR Jaylen Waddle. 31-27 at the half.

Auburn leads 40-38 as the fourth quarter begins. Two pick-6 returns have generated 14 of Auburn’s points but Mack Jones has answered each mistake with positive plays.

Bama goes deep again and Waddle scores his fourth TD! No one can cover the dude. 45-40 Bama. Still 13:44 left.

Man, Bama is making too many mistakes. Penalties, pick 6's, and miscommunication. This Bama team is still really good, but not the showing they wanted to have in order to get in the playoff.

Bama loses on a chip shot FG hitting an upright and then 12 men on the field before a punt that would have given them one last shot with a minute left, 48-45 Auburn.

This is my first chance to see Utah play this year. Frigid SLC at the base of the Wasatch range...looks beautiful. @r2473 !

Utes favored over Colorado by 4 TDs.

Sorry but not impressed with your Utes, @r2473 . They might beat Iowa though.

The last four should be:

1. LSU

2. Ohio State

3. Clemson

4. Baylor/Oklahoma winner

Premature evaluation...just saw a gorgeous brunette Utes cheerleader; if she’s not already one of @r2473 ’s harem then I’m all in for Utah in front of any Tornado Alley Big 12 representativeness.

When does Jim Harbaugh get any criticism? Michigan gets blown out by their biggest rival every year. It's time to get rid of this guy, he is not the answer. Urban Meyer or Colonel Sanders, it doesn't matter they will kill Harbaugh and Michigan. I root for Michigan so this 'rivalry' is hard to watch every year.

I hate Bama but number 12?! Baylor, Penn St, Utah, Florida, Oklahoma?!?! Hell Wisky lost to Illinois for goodness’ sake!

It helps justify the Ohio State #1 ranking by taking LSU’s SOS down a notch.

Meanwhile, the Paul Finebaum vs Dabo banter is LOL worthy:

LOVE Dabo's response to Finebaum, I'll remember this one for the rest of my days:

"One of the best lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t worry about criticism from people you wouldn’t seek advice from.”

Utah looking good

I knew Utah wouldn’t score, but I didn’t think the defense would give up that many.
After seeing them Saturday vs Colorado, they were the top suspect.

I’m not sure who will wind up #4 if Baylor wins and LSU blows out The Dawgs. Perhaps The Committee sees the sin of their Bama #12 droop volleigh and do a resurrection of The Sabanites???

You’re assuming Wisconsin loses :)

In you’re scenario, surely it’s Baylor

Yes, also assuming a Clemson rout (28.5 point favorite).

Baylor is getting thrashed so Oklahoma is Bama’s ceiling and #4 if it’s all chalk.

Jaylen Hurts might test OSU and create a shootout in the #1-#4 slot. LSU vs Clemson will be a classic and The Committee will keep LSU #2 to set that up.

Just when I thought I had seen everything, OU/Baylor surprises again! The Sooners knock Brewer out of the game, Jaylen starts putting the Hurts on his own team and the Sooner secondary gives up two big plays to the Baylor backup QB, one on a wounded duck. Baylor 13-10 at the half.

Oklahoma overcomes their initial Zeno-phobia and batter the 3rd-string QB in the first OT to win 30-23.

Now every Sooner fan has to become a Bayou Tiger supporter. If that fails, then they have to hope for dual evening upsets.

Badgers making a statement that #1 OSU is overrated. Sad that they’ll probably back in to the playoffs even if this lead holds up.

Gotta admire UVA for keeping up the fight despite the talent mismatch. Back to a 17-point spread, 31-14 midway through the third.

OSU opens the second half with a TD drive on a great onehanded catch in the back of the EZ by their TE Ruckert. 21-14.

NFL officiating malady is contagious on a non-call of a false start by OSU WR Olave, who never reset before the snap on a TD scoring play.

Is it possible to have a program like OSU, LSU, or Alabama without under-the-table payments to the players? I've heard so many stories from former college players, and about USC under Pete Carroll. Ninety percent of OSU's second-string players could start for Cal.

1 seed is going to be a monumental advantage . Wonder who gets it. Clemson is far better than Ou. Especially with Hurts not playing anywhere near as well as he was earlier this year.

This will be a fix if OSU stays #1. What else can LSU do to build their case for being top dog?:

at Texas, early when Texas looked strong

Vs Florida, 2 TD win

Vs Auburn, despite lowest point production 23-20

at #1 Alabama, putting 46 on the board on the road

SEC Championship game, 37-10 vs top defense Georgia

OSU’s top wins (please don’t call Michigan a top win) were both at home vs Penn State and Wisconsin. Nothing else until being down 21-7 tonight vs the same Wisconsin team you beat 38-7.

The Committee won’t see it that way though.
