NCAA individuals - final stretch

1) Stoiana and Pinnington both dusted their opponents today - crazy impressive that they’re both bringing it in individuals after the team event

2) social media claims Stoiana only player still in the running for triple crown (team / singles / doubles) - can anyone name the last player to do this (men or women) in 2001 - I like to think I know a good amount of college tennis history / trivia in the 2000s and I wasn’t that close to remembering this one until I looked it up…

If there’s a hint to be given, it’s perhaps that I wouldn’t necessarily be one on this forum to celebrate this particular triple crown - and, the following won’t be helpful, but having gone down the rabbit hole this particular individual now works for Apple

Bob Bryan
Indeed a triple crown winner in 1998

But not the most recent one in 2001

A different tennis program I root against, and as Clemson said someone who did more or less nothing in the pros, but seems to have made a nice non-tennis career for himself over the years

Good grief: The NCAA tournament site is a freakin' joke. It has no scores. It never has any scores. I had to find the brackets to see team results a few
days ago--as if just printing the scores was difficult. Get results from the day's matches? The tennis site doesn't have them. It has no scores.

Man, ESPN+ is a complete joke. The cameras go out and they can't keep track of the scores. The NCAA website is also super glitchy.

Matias Boeker for UGA. Brother was also on those teams. I recall watching on ESPN or something the 2002 finals between USC and UGA

Illinois still only school to win all three titles (team/singles/doubles) in a single year without the singles and doubles winner overlapping. TCU has a shot for be the 2nd

Thank you for posting this. I came here to find the link since I couldn’t find it anywhere on the ncaa or tournament site ‍♀️

Can someone please call ESPN and get rid of this dude Gruskin, hardly showing at of the Basavareddy match,, which is the best match of the day by far. what is his hate toward Stanford ?

Basa just told the courtside interviewers he lost on purpose today to ‘get the he>> out of the shackles of a Stanford uniform’

Seems like a wise kid
I see you are scared. With Nishesh coming back and new players coming in to bolster the roster, next year will be like atp tour pros vs amateurs. LOL,, Be scared be very scared....

Awsome, can you tell this dude from cracked racket to cover more stanford players, Yep is still alive and doubles is still going strong. He claims to cover the end of the matches because of all the matches going on but when it comes to stanford players,, end of the matches are barely covered even.
And the ends are barely competitive since all the guys like Banerjee and Basa fade after one set

Excellent fitness

Anthrop’s making a very strong case for playing at the top of the Buckeye lineup next year. A phenomenal coming of age for him. With a few opportunistic transfers Ohio St can still contend for a title next year.

Looks like JPJ finally ran out of gas. But taking nothing away from Baris who’s been cruising through so far.

Cmon Michael Zheng, this one's for the Ivy league. Moving on. Smart people can play better tennis

Zheng v Smith
Baris v Planinsek

Zheng beat Smith 3&1 a couple weeks ago. He knows how to play him. Baris has dropped only one set in his run beating JPJ and now Anthrop.

I am picking Zheng v Baris in the final. Let's wait and see.
