NCAA Women's tourney 2022

TAMU doesn't seem to be fretting at all about losing the doubles point. 5 first set wins in singles, one singles win already and leads or ties in all the second sets - in the remaining 4 matches where they won the first set. And, they're even ahead in the second set in the one match where they lost the first set.
OU fighting back on remaining 2 cts

Duke squeaks past NCSU 4-3. Margaryta Bilokin was pulled from her #5 singles spot, and Duke lost the 5/6 positions. Not sure if she is injured, sick, or something else. We will see tomorrow how they line up against Oklahoma.

at least 3 (maybe 4 - not sure who was up 6-5 in the TB) match points have escaped Stearns

and they dropped the last 4 games and the second set on 2

they need this TB on 1, hard to imagine Stearns mentally recovering if she should lose this set

Stearns lands a big inside out FH to take it 11-9 and put Texas up 3-1

they might lose at 2, 6 however (at least if Scotty keeps up her momentum)

my eyes are on ct 5

wow, bigtime third set from Collins on court 2 after the second slipped away, up 5-2 and looking like the most likely to close for UT

And court 5 it is, although court 2 was not too bad for Texas.

Bilokin still out of singles at 5, and it is not working out well for Duke at 5-6. She did play #3 doubles again. Odd.

OU won a tight doubles point, singles matches are splitting, which is fine for OU.

had not realized until now that OU's #1 played her first two seasons for UF

man was that a big transfer loss

OU/Duke coming down to #6
Freshman vs Grad Student Transfer
Grad transfer who usually does not play singles.

Duke spotted the other team points on Friday and Saturday and it became too much to overcome.

Of course, Oklahoma is playing without Chanta, who would be 3 or 4 in the singles lineup. They have overcome that, but not sure they can do so against Texas.

I see that Oklahoma listed Chanta at #2 in the approved singles lineup, although she never played there. Justified by her 10-0 record at #3 and 12-2 at #4. A big loss for OU that she cannot play.

Let's go Connie Ma! Nice 2nd Rd victory over SEC Player of the Year, reeling off 5 straight games to win the first set. Fear the Tree!

Why is there no one from Georgia playing in the singles tournament? Why did Lea Ma, their number one player, not even play in the team tournament?

Way to go Connie, incredible win in the windy conditions over Ewing. Looks like we are looking at the NCAA champion and US open wildcard, GO CARD

Go Connie, about to serve it out. really BAD over-rule against NC state player in the previous game on a ball that was clearly wide by 2-3 inches. Good thing it didn't affect the match. Anyhow, Card now about to serve for the match. GO CARD

Wow...I missed the ending. The NC Player came back from 2-5 in the 2nd set and had a commanding lead in the tiebreaker. I had to take a work call but figured we were going into a third set. Must've been a great comeback!!

Very impressive run by Connie Ma as a true freshman. Not to forget she beat Stearns during the regular season and went close with Navarro during the kickoff weekend. This from someone who played a relatively light schedule in the juniors because she went to regular school. Hope she continues to develop in the years to come.

She was #1 in the country in the Juniors

True but quite unconventional..,didn’t play the 18s summer nats last year. Also skipped many other nats along her junior journey but did represent the US in the BJK(?) cup. I think they won that

Connie is a scholar, always put academics ahead of tennis. How many junior #1 players do you know that does that ? She was too busy studying for the exams than competing in the nationals and she was still #1.

Another stupid post, based on one match.

Did you see her other scores, like against Peyton Stearns in the team event, and against Cameron Morra in the ACC tournament semis?

I guess you're ill informed. Navarro has been playing a lot of pro tournaments so she should have no problem beating these NCAA women players into oblivion. Navarro is like MLB and those NCAA players are like AAA. She lost to them is inexcusable, and you're trying to defend the indefensible. Look like the joke is on you.

Oh, the same awful Cameron Mora that lost to a California team in the team semi-final last year? Nice try.
