hi i am looking for a new racket i have narrowed my choices down to wilson pro staff 90 vs head prestige mid vs yonex v core 89 tour vs wilson blx six one 95 either 16x18 or 18x20 version

my main shots are my slice and spin serve, my one handed backhanded slice and my forehand with topspin

which do you think will suit me best

Thanks in advance

I have demoed every single one of those rackets in the UK!
P.W.P Wimbledon does a 89T demo. Hard to know which is best without knowing about you but they are all very fine rackets.

This is my order below but it is as much to do with my ability as anything else (IG Prestige Mid is last because I cannot use it effectively in a match but it hits beautifully).

  1. 89T (has everything and is much more forgiving than its headsize implies)
  2. 6.1 BLX 16x18
  3. 6.1 BLX 18x20
  4. PS BLX 90
  5. IG Prestige Mid

I emphasise it is personal to my style and ability. I would not argue with someone who reversed the order. The Prestige Mid is the one I want to like the most and if I was more of a serve volleyer, might prefer.

THANKS ALOT MATE:)

great advice where can i demo the other rackets from

I've played with all of the above at one point or another and favor the Prestige Mids - but all I would be happy to play with. If you are looking to control the power a little more Prestige Mid would be your racquet- string it low with a thin gut or lux and you have the perfect racquet IMO that you can hit out with all day and never fear hitting long. If you want a little more forgiveness go for the Six One 18x20 but it is definitely more powerful and might give you the same issues. The pro staff is awesome but I'd go for the 18 mains if you are looking for more control - the feel and consistency really does improve, for me.

THANKS ALOT MATE:)

Wigmore sports does a demo program as well. There's also a ski shop in Fulham called 47 degrees. They have a small but good selection of racquets and if something is out, they have a good idea of when it will be coming back, which is nice.
