Need alternative for Asics Gel-Resolution

I have been playing in these shoes for the past couple of years and really like the fit, weight, and functionality. However, in each pair of these shoes, at least in through my first 4 pairs, the uppers wears out just behind my toes long before the soles become unplayable.

These are $120+ dollar shoes and I guess I expect more than 9 months of twice-a-week play out of them before they have to be replaced. I will still play in them for several months after the holes first appear until the it gets big enough to where I lose forefoot stability but I think this has happened enough that it is time for me to move on to a different shoe.

Can anybody recommend something with the same fit as the Resolutions but with more durable uppers?

Adidas Barricade is the most durable shoes but it is not comfortable as Asics GR.

Thanks for the suggestions SJSA and Ramon. I don't think I can go much narrower than I do now unfortunately but I'm willing to give the Barricade's a tryout.

Well, Barricades 8 have a toe jamming problem for some people (me included) and are clunky/stiff. Waste of money for me.

I've stock pilled on Nike CBs 4.3 and at some point I'll give Lunars a shot.

I've also started to use GR5s for clay.

I've had toe jamming with other shoes but so far it hasn't been a problem with the Barricade 7's, and I've worn them for at least 10 hours now.

I did notice that the B7's are about a half size longer than my other shoes, even though they are all size 9.5. That may be one reason why I'm not jamming because I do notice my foot moving forward slightly on stops. The lateral support is very solid, which may actually contribute to the foot moving longitudinally.

They aren't the most comfortable shoe out there because of the stiffness, but I do like them. They have good cushioning, but it's a solid performance type cushion, not the pillowy cushion of a Prince T22.

Well after reading reviews and other forum posts I bought some kSwiss Bigshot shoes, not the Lite or the BS2 but the older, apparently discontinued Bigshots. They will weigh a bit more than my GR4's but their reviews describe them as very durable so I think I can handle that tradeoff.

I appreciate the advice.

I think toe jamming happens with B 8, not with 7 (from what I've read here and from my B8).

Also I was under impression that the fact that B8 run a bit larger, is one of the factors that make toe jamming happening (b/c the foot slides forward etc).

Like you I've found them also a tad stiff and clunky, although the toe jamming was the deal breaker for me on clay…

For clay I went to Gel Resolution 5 (after being somewhat disappointed by the same GR5 shoe, hard court model) and for hard courts, I'm sticking with Nike CBs 4.3 (and plan on trying Lunars on some point- especially since it's hard to find Lotto Raptors, Prince T22 and Yonex Power Cushions in Canada, to at least try the fit in store).

Barricades have always been a black tote machine. The remodel has had this problem. I cannot wear them.

The closest shoe I can see to the Resolution is the Nike vapor 9.5 tour. Fantastic all-around shoot as is the Resolution.

I have AsicsSpeedSols...
My other pair is BigShot, the heavier model. Great shoe, more solid, better traction, heavier.
Perhaps a stripe of shoegoo atop the uppers to take the brunt of the sliding?

My theory about toe jamming in the Barricade is that the forefoot is not cinchable to a snug fit with the lower laces and/or the material of the mid sole allows a little sliding.
