Need Help Choosing Racquets!

First, let me tell you about my game before I explain my situation. I've been playing for approximately 2 years now. My coach thinks I'm extremely advanced for how long I've been playing. (I play with hi-schoolers, and I'm 13) I use a mostly flat with a little bit of topspin on my backhand, and a semi-western forehand. I demoed two racquets, K95 (16/18) and the MG Prestige Mid. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. I'm kinda leaning toward the MG Prestige Mid, as I've heard that it has converted many people from Wilson to Head. However, my coach believes that the K95 is better because many juniors have it. HELP!

Your coach is an idiot if he thinks the k95 simply because many juniors have it. I've played with the k95 before and I loved it. The only problem it is low powered and wears me down fast. I often ran into switching frame on the 3rd set because I didn't have enough power left to hit with topspin.

I wouldn't jump right into the Mid as a junior just because the sweetspot is smaller and as you get stronger, your strokes will change slightly. If anything, the Prestige MP or even Pro would be better competitors to the K Six One 95.

Some others along those lines to try:
Dunlop AG300
Babolat APD or PDR
Prince Speedport Black or White Pro
Wilson K Blade or K Pro Open

at your age 13 maybe a mid size is a little too demanding for you, however Sampras grow up with the PS85 so there you go. I think if you have demoed both rackets, you should know which one fits your game better.

Use what you like, amigo. By that, I mean use what you like. Don't worry about rumors 'n stuff since hearsay won't put the ball on the sweetspot for you. If a racquet is more comfortable for you to play your whole game with, that's pretty significant.

Caution: don't be taken in by a racquet that you can, for example, serve like a demon with, yet you have little control with it on every other shot. It's hard to say exacly why we can have more confidence with a certain racquet, but when you have that good fit that you can feel, try that one again on a different day and if it seems to be right, that might be enough to end your search.

Just demo both first the K95 will offer more spin for your semi-western and the MG Prestige Mid will give you more power. I'm 14 and I could probably beat half the high schoolers at my current school

I have, and it seemed very hollow and too light. It's really surprising me, because I'm very small for my age, and a 12-ish ounce racquet isn't too heavy!
