Need help picking tennis shoes

I was using some nike shoes not quite suited for tennis as they smashed my toe on both feet when running down dropshots. I'm flat footed and i'm going to need shoes with a more open toe. Can someone suggest some decent tennis shoes that are suited for speed on hardcourt? Thanks.

uhhhh, maybe the shoes were just too small if they were jamming your toes. anyshoe thats light will give you good foot speed on the court and i guess are therefore suited for "speed." i do know the new lotto atp raptor 2's are pretty wide in the toebox because i have narrow feet and the balls of my feet move around on side-to-side push offs. they arent the lightest shoes but i think theyll work well because they are relatively low to the ground. you should research some different styles and check to see what was said about their width. for quality hardcourt shoes with good stability would suggest the adidas barricades II's or IV's. the nike vapor speed 2's are light, allow for great footspeed, and are pretty durable, the only thing is they aren't the stablest of shoes, but i think the width would work. i'd give any of these shoes a look and try the ones you would like the best.

If you want the shoes with a plenty of room for toes, avoid barricades, since they are not wide to put it mildly.
Nike air resolve plus has a plenty of room for toes, from my experience.

I have extremely broad feet and my perennial problem is with my toes too. However, my pair of Nike Air Max Breathe 3 are great and have not had any problems. I would even say that it is the most comfortable pair of tennis shoes I've ever owned even though it's also the most expensive! No regrets spending that amount of money for pain free feet as I used to have to see a podiatrist with my other shoes which ended up costing me more.

Depends what model. the BIIIs are wider than the BIIs and is wider than your standard D shoes ( or it seems to me). It you want wider than that go to New Balance 2E or 4E width.

Barricade 2's are my suggestion!! Go try a few different pairs on at a "Tennis" store. Your basic sporting goods store won't have much to choose from. Good luck. Let us know what you end up getting. Thanks!!

Make sure you have a full thumb width between your toes and the end of the shoes. I use to use one size and with the proper measurement and orthotics I now wear a two sizes bigger. It would have killed my feet to have tham back in the smaller ones like before.

Wouldn't having extra space between the toe and the shoe's smash your toes more as you come to a stop to reach a drop shot?

Rather than whoring a particular shoe, Ill just suggest that u try on all the shoes u can and wear what is comfortable for you.

It's not like demoing a racquet. You can't just go out and test drive some tennis shoes. Their's a big difference then just trying them on and then going out and see how they really work when playing on court.

do you have wide/narrow/normal width feet?
do u have a high/medium/low arch?

You forgot your weight. You will find that light shoes aren't very durable and won't last a long time...
How wide are ur feet???
Are we talkin big foot? Id suggest something from New Balance then...

Can anyone recommend for support, I sprained an ankle recently, am rehabbing and looking for a shoe with the best support (also fairly wide foot).

Use a brace, no shoe will ever give you the support you need for a rehabbing ankle.

Best shoe for Ankle Support

I definitely have the braces ready to go... my question was really for after the rehab I'm going to need some new shoes that will help in the support area, in addition to the braces... because the goal will be to eventually wean myself off the braces, so therefore I'm looking for a shoe that will provide support, thinking about the Nike Max Breathe Free II...?
