Need some advice on Head RIP strings

I am starting to really like Head RIP Control in my RDX 500 MP. It compares favorably with the Yonex 850 Pro Spin. It has slightly more power similar control, and is a little bit more muted, but also more comfortable when hitting big. The two weak points in RIP Control for me are tension maintenance, it's starting to get a little too powerful, and string movement. In these areas, I think the Yonex string is better. I'd like to try some of the other Head RIP strings, and was hoping for some comparisons.

I'm looking at the following:
Iso-speed control
Head Intellistring
RIP Perfect Control
RIP Perfect Power
RIP IntelliTour

In USRSA lab tests, Head RIP Control was excellent on tension maintenance, and I never had a problem with the strings moving around on my Prince Graphite Classic OSs. And, as it aged, it did not get more powerful, it just lost touch/feel. Because it starts out with the "muted" feel as you noted, it was pretty dead by the time I cut it out.

Well, I don't think the tension maintenance is bad, nor does it move around a lot, these areas are just not quite as good as the Yonex 850 Spin. I was hoping one of the other Head RIP options might be a little better than RIP control. You'd think with the higher price, the RIP Perfect control should be better. I was hoping for some feedback from someone who has tried some or all of these.

Thanks

I currently string one of my Wilson PSC 6.1's with RC 17. I have tried Intellitour 17 and Intellistring 16; have not tried Perfect Control or Perfect Power. My judgment is that RC is better in the 95 si than either I-tour or I-string and I-tour was better than I-string. When stringing RC, I generally note a 3-5# tension loss within the first few sessions, then I find the tension stabilizes in my comfort zone for an extended period of time without a lot of movement. I-string and I-tour seemed to provide a tighter stringbed (the I-string much more 'boardy'), did not lose tension as rapidly but lost # for a more extended time than RC with the crosses (an iso-speed 'look-a-like'?) losing # more rapidly than the mains. So, I-tour and I-string felt less uniform with time. FWIW, I would opt for RC over I-string and I-tour. At this point I have no plans to try either PC or PP.

I am using rip control 17 in a Yonex RDX 500 mid at 55lbs and think its great. I had used intellitour 17 in the past - but think RIP Control 17 is a great string for this frame......

I have my Babolat Pure Control Std. strung with the RIP Control and I think it's ok. Holds its tension quite well, but moves quite a bit compared to ALU. The good thing is that it wears out nicely; mine has notches all over the stringbed, but still seems to be solid in my frame. It snaps eventually though, but it might be dead way before that.

Try it. It's a lot better in other frames than it is in my frame!
