Need some ideas for my tennis league

Hey guys,

I have been running a local tennis league in Turkey. Well, it's a league across the residents. So the players are from all different clubs. I want to give each league member an ID card, so they feel like a part of this league. But i figured these cards would be too dull and meaningless without some personalization.

I decided to put some uniquely designed medal logos on the back of the cards to show in which seasons this player competed , and which local tournaments he joined. And those medals will be in different colors, depending on how successful the player becomes in each league season or tournament.

These medals will show since when this player has been competing, how much he improved, and how active he was in the league. Those medals could be like rounded medals, or like rectangular cards, each having a different design for each league season or tournament.

I did some Google search but i can't find anything like this. Can you help me ? I just need some examples of what i am trying to do.

If you have a better idea, please feel free to speak out.

Thanks.

Instead of medals, you could try embroidered patches. 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, each division, each tourney. Rather than adding to a single medal and re engraving and re engraving, you just line them up.

Here in the USA, lots of tournaments give out T shirts with sponsors logos and the name of the tournament. Unfortunately, the market has become so saturated with fun runs and walks, etc., they have lost their distinctiveness and value to the participant. Putting the patches side by side on a bag, etc. would be pretty cool.

volleyball tourneys use "bag tags" to put on backpacks, another option. stickers for car bumpers, computer cases, hats.

look at USA college football helmet stickers for one idea.

Dear stapletonj, let me make myself a little more clear.
I am not talking about giving them actual medals. Well we give trophies and medals after tournaments but that’s not what i am saying. I am talking about putting a little unique icon for every season and tournament that player participated. So at the back of those ID cards you can see what seasons and tournaments he played. 1 unique icon(logo) for each event. And with different colorization you will even know how well that player did on that season or tournament.

I am trying to think of the logistics of your idea. What you're asking is for is:
  1. A program to keep track of every participating individual (maybe an Excel file database)
  2. Assign some sort of graphic based on event and placement (created using Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or GIMP)
  3. Print out an individual card with the aforementioned information (Maybe Adobe Spark and a local printing service)
  4. Repeat this process every season
That's probably how I'd go about it.

I am wondering who goes around showing their USTA (or TurkishLTA?) card. You might want to do little stickers to peel and stick onto the back of the permanent card.

However, as a player, I would prefer the bag tag idea.
You can attach them to the zipper pulls and allows you to show off a little if you have tags for placing high in big tourneys or leagues. Matter of fact, I play in a series of tournaments that has a season awards ceremony at the end of the year, and I'm gonna suggest just that!

You may want to try some sort of Lanyard card like the ATP issues at tournaments....They are sort of fun can attach to bags, and won't break the bank.
