Need some insight

Hi all,

Recently been playing with a technifibre 315 dynacore. 16*19 string pattern.
NOw I am no Agassi just a very good D3/average D2 player who played for a mid ranking college in Sciac in southern cali.

With this new racquet I am breaking strings every two days after roughly three hours of playing. I do have a topspin game but no Agassi.

Is this normal?
With 18*20 string pattern it takes me like two weeks.

However, recently (I have changed my stringer of roughly 10 years) I had a string job done and the racquet felt terrible afterwards. It felt extremely tight and could not get any top on it. Tension I told him was my normal 48. But really it was terrible to play with it. A nightmare. After 1 hour of hitting the strings broke.

My second question is was this due to a faulty string job?

Is he damaging my racquet as the vibration has increased big time with the second job I did yesterday. This time it was loose but the vibration still there.

Most 4.5 level players hit very solid, practice a lot, and occasionally hit very hard.
Some thick poly at your stated tension predominates, and some poly lasts longer than others.
Gut would last at least 10 hours, providing you keep it dry and occasionally coat it with some waterproofing like shellac.
It's possible the new strings were flawed, or the job itself. Hard to pin down the exact problem without knowing the string tension involved and exactly WHERE on the stringbed, which strings, broke.
Sometimes, switching to a different string machine, the tension ends up different than what you're used to.
Did you "ping" the strings after the string job, to feel for the tension?

Was you old stringer using a LO vs new stringer using CP? Did you change strings or gauge? What was the old tension vs the new tension?

Pattern makes a BIG difference in string life. 17 Ga in an 18x19 or 18x20 will last 20 hours easily. Put that same string in a 16x19 or 16x20 and it may last 8 hours or less. The movement of the mains over the crosses will notch and eventually break the mains. Also since you moved to a 16 main pattern, you probably ended up with a higher tension than when using 18 mains. The higher tension will also shorten string life since it promoted notching. 2 cents.

The string pattern is what is causing it. It's not an issue with the stringer.

hello...the strings broke right in the middle as it did normally. The tension has been the same 48 I had requested.
It could be the different string machine but they do it manually out here so to me it means its the stringer.
Yes I did ping them they were really tight the first time. And then the second time they were extremely loose.
I guess that is why the strings were vibrating so much when I hit the ball

8 hours still make sense but 2 hours is pushing it. I am no Nadal or agassi barely a good 3.5 or average 4 player
