Need to buy a watch/app with auto alert or similar for grandparent that lives by themselves

What do we need to get.

They have an android phone

What I'm looking for is a watch that could possibly tell with pulse or gyro if they fall or need help and auto alerts us or 911.

Is there such an app/watch combo, is apple watch dependent on an iphone for this or can it be apple watch/android phone. Or do i need to look at an android watch and if so what app?

I believe you need to get Apple watch and iPhone. Apple watch detects a fall and alerts 911 or Emergency services in your area instantly (it's 000 in Australia). The Emergency service will get the watch wearer's gps location, so they know where the wearer is.
