Nestor/Zimonjic win Rome doubles

Danny Nestor's renewed pairing with Nenad Zimonjic is really rolling back the clock a few years to a time when they were the dominant pairing. They just won the Rome doubles, their second consecutive win this month. Both times they knocked off the Bryans. Danny Nestor going on 42, is playing as well as he ever has and if he keeps healthy could still be a factor for another 2 years or so. Nice to see a 42 year old at the top of his game!

It's interesting that as soon as they got back together, they immediately start beating the Bryans and stopped them winning all the tournaments!

Are Nestor and Zimonjic the real GOATS of doubles? Are they to the Bryans what Nadal is to Federer?

Wrong post on several levels .

2 wins make them the GOATS ?

And what does that have to do with Nadal ? Are you insinuating Nadal is a GOAT though he has lesser titles just like Nestor / Zimonjic ?

Canadian/Serbian duo

Victory takes the 41-year-old Nestor to 84 tour-level titles, giving him sole ownership of third place in the Open Era doubles title leaderboard. The Canadian trails Mike Bryan (100 titles) and Bob Bryan (98). The left-hander claimed his fifth Madrid title, having also triumphed in 2002, 2004 and 2005 with former long-time partner Mark Knowles.

The 37-year-old Zimonjic, who claimed his 600th tour-level doubles match win earlier in the week, clinched his 51st tour-level title. He joins Ilie Nastase in 23rd place on the all-time list, just one behind India’s Mahesh Bhupathi.

Of course not but whenever they get together they seem to quickly establish themselves as the dominant doubles team.

Because Nadal is the only guy who has a commanding H2H lead over the otherwise acknowledged GOAT, Federer. Nestor and Zimonjic seem to be in a similar position v the Bryans.

Yes, definitely. The Bryans were merely transitional champions.

Yes I am not sure why they stopped playing together couple years ago? That was a big mistake.
