Nadal's hitting the ball well but he looks Federer-at-2022-Laver-Cup slow.
He's supposed to be slow, because he said he's saving himself for the clay season and he said his only goal at Indian Wells is to not get injured (y)
So with a plan to play careful at IW, no chance of moving fast in an exhibition...

Just like RF was “saving” himself for Wimbledon…just to get bageled?

OK. Personally, I would prefer they not even waste their time on IW. But this is just a weak take. It was an exhibition, they played it up. I am sure some of it went to Andre's charity which has done a lot to help kids in NV.
Alcaraz is 20 years old and hadn't made a final in around 7 months.

Him playing IW as defending champion is not waste of time. You are wrong.

actually I do have an issue here, especially for Alcaraz, here is a quote from him just a few weeks ago, criticizing ATP on the tour schedule

"They (the organisers) play with the health of the athletes, who have to play at the highest level for so long, tournament after tournament. I think we have to change that... (but) I don't know if there is a solution."

obviously his solution is to play more matches, paid matches like Netflix Slam and 6 king Slam

Yesterday's match was not a bad deal for him at all. But going to SA playing clay tournaments is directly in contradiction with his claims

That is fair for Carlito.

There is an tweet from rottenberg

He is saying the exho business is booming but only on men's side. This is in contradiction to the numbers that are thrown at we ATP fans whenever the question of popularity arises.

This woman's player slam final had this much rating on ESPN. But if that was really true then the exhibitions would also pay massive money to female tennis players.

Right now it's only men's players. Unless I am wrong.
