We seem to be either ranked 49th or 50 in education or Health care and quality of doctors

We’re ranked in the top 5 in crime , murder and poverty so that is also not good

This is my home city and I am enjoying the weather and grappling , so I am staying put

Plus I have a career here
We get an A in weather

My area is very good when you factor in weather. We get a "C" in crime because of the Pulse club shooting and northwest is downtown.

Yep, i sometimes think you only tolerate vegas for the weather :) That far north gets cold, shame you dont play tennis anymore, can roll around in a gym anywhere, but year round tennis is great

NH is usually top five in wealth, safety and education.

Currently ranked #3 in the unemployment rate at 2.5%.

#8 in access to medical care but that's because we're next to MA which is #1.

#5 in US News & WR's ranking of best state to live in.
#4 in US News & WR's ranking of quality of life.
#1 in US News & WR's ranking on opportunity.

Nevada comes in at #34. It's ranked 5th in infrastructure.

The Southeastern states, excluding FL did the worst.

Yeah, I think a state's economic condition is elevated once you have gambling, legalized marijuana, dope, taxpayer-paid abortion, routinized violence between people and minimal education standards. Keeps you home in the same old dysfunctional place you grew up in.

Well I live in Illinois so that speaks for itself.

Also live less than an hr from STL which has some of the worst crime/murders/drugs in the entire country. STL was ranked 1st in one of those categories recently.

The main reason is that there are a lot of immigrant parents in Nevada who cannot speak English and are themselves not educated and are just too poor right now. If every place catered to a small, shrinking number of upscale privileged residents, every place would be the first in education, like the "excellent" examples always coming out of Germany and Japan, where all the science contest children look identical.

It depends on the kinds of immigrants. MA has a lot of immigrants too but they are often from China, India, Middle East and Europe.

My home state of Louisiana is ranked last, #50. My current state I’m living in, Georgia, is ranked #32. Frankly I think the health care in New Orleans is vastly superior, and I mean vastly, to Atlanta.

Yeah, I'd guess the route to go is strike oil. The western US is a pretty dry region. I noticed how much less green and green the west was last summer on our trip to colo.

The original idea was for poor people to have better life. I don't think the people you mention fall into that category.

Don't see how Vegas gets an "A". It's way too hot in the summer. Can't even go outside.

I think they figured people would want to just play outside. and also figured people normally gamble and have fun with women and playing tennis is not on their priority list so they probably didn't see a need for it.

I’m surprised CA isn’t in there with their building requirements. It’s wsted in MA as there are so many overcast days and snow cover in the winter. But folks can definitely afford them here.

I have to drive to stl everyday from the IL side. It sucks. Major drug problem and homicides like everyday. Watching the local news here is depressing. It's all negative stuff. Pretty sh1thole city really.

I'unno when I lived in Nevada it seemed alright. I lived in Henderson though. Tennis courts everywhere, clean roads, suburb mania, huge parks, and daily running water parks. To me, it was great growing up there. I didn't hear about much crime and if I did, it was happening at other schools in other districts. Henderson seemed all right.

You run a delivery business in Vegas right? Hmm... I seem to remember coming home from school one day, seeing a mail man passed out in the back of his mail truck, which was parked next to the cul-de-sac's mailbox, with cops and ambulance tending to him. To this day, not sure if he was dead or just unconscious. Stay hydrated out there.
