Interesting and they are cheaper as well than prior version. Maybe they dropped the durability guarantee.

Current Barricades don't have a durability guarantee. The $150 price tag was absurd, considering its place in the lineup at its time of release. The barricades were a durability shoe without a warranty. Neither was it a top flight game day shoe like the Ubersonics were supposed to be. It'll be nice if Adidas returned it to its place as their rugged durability shoe with a warranty. Having said all this, it's one of my favorite shoes but I'm not the typical tennis player because I don't play that much but need the high end support for my old, flat feet.
I see the lacing system and toe guard has been beefed up. If the ventilation is improved, it'll be a fantastic shoe. These were the only issues with the current shoe

Not sure why but amazon has some colorways go up before adidas puts them on their site and they sell cheaper until official release. Adidas does weekly deals on these so the prices are always changing.

These were pulled off Amazon, but I ordered a pair and they were shipped already and arriving this weekend. If this Link is correct, then these are supposed to be released June 15 at $160. No clue why Amazon had them up for sale at $120. Will see what I get delivered and post here. Fingers crossed they fumbled this release lol

Thank you I've been looking everywhere for this! They have a black colorway up on Amazon now too, can't wait to see what other colorways they'll have and hopefully the older barricades get a good sale.

Quick review: I’ve played in the newest version a few times. They aren’t as comfortable overall as the last gen and they def have less lock down on the tongue. I didn’t have any Achilles issues with either version. Feels like there’s more room in the toe box with the more flexible, breathable upper.

how is the toebox width compared to the previous model? narrower/same/wider?

I mean.... thats his feet

Yours could be different

One of the largest complaints the GR8 had was also slippage

GR8s felt like heel clamps for me

Well, many shoes also have overall tendencies that many people notice, such as the sh*t durability of the Uber 4 and the huge toebox/ width of shoes like the Solecourt boost and Babolat SFX3. Lots of people complained about the fit of the 2021 Barricade, Im not the only one that had issues.

But thanks for the lecture, pops.

I never said you were the only one. I just said that your feet "COULD be different". Not sure what the "pops" reference is for, or whether it was needed but okay man.
Yeah, not sure where that anger came from...
By the way, the 2023 Barricades seem like a real hit. I love the 2021's but just found the ventilation poor. The fit was perfect for me, especially after a 3-4 hour break in. Seems like Adidas kept all the good things and fixed the bad things.

Its all good, your message came off as sarcastic bc everyones feet are obv going to be a but different. The last barricades had the worst fit even so good to hear they have improved some things.

What? That literally makes no sense. Sarcasm is when you say the opposite of what is true. Everything I said was true. I would have said "everyone's feet are the same" if I was being sarcastic. you are now just making things up to justify something in your head. :-D not sure what it is though

Nvm, went over your head. Keep laughing to yourself though.

Everyone's foot is different but in my experience Adidas Barricade is the most overrated shoe ever. They ruined my left big toenail and close to similar for the right. K Swiss, Babolat, Asics all make substantially better shoes. I've had more than one tennis pro say as much as the same. One former college player told me no one on his team would wear Adidas.

Really hope they fixed the fit issues from the previous gen. Last ones were unwearable for me.
I had a similar experience. It took weeks to get them broken in and even then they weren't comfortable. Went back to my Cage 4.

Now I'm looking at the GR9 and the Cybersonic for my next shoe.

Played a match in the new ones last night.. these are a downgrade if you move at all aggressively on the court. My foot slid forward a few times jamming my toe into the front. So far no nail issues, but these are more painful to wear overall. Not worth the extra breathability. I love whatever rubber they use though.. so squeaky!

appreciate that insight. i want to be sold on them, just so hard to tell walking around the house in them. the tongue feels uncomfortable but they are nice and low to the ground.

Thats too bad. Was hoping they would come up with a less painful/better fitting Barricade possibly.

Those new yellow/green ones look amazing.

Will stock up on the previous generation. I love the locked in racecar feel

never had a barricade but wanted to try this one. would this even be good for someone with sensitive achilles issues? need some cushion in heel and decent forefoot cushion…i know it low to the ground n super stable. felt cushiony walking around in them but figured id ask the real barricade users if this is even worth the experiment

Barricades aren't really a good place to start when looking for good cushioning. They're made for durability over anything. Good if you like a low to the ground feel with a tough outsole.

Just got a pair of these (teal/neon yellow).

They look great and they are certainly more comfortable/WAY better fitting heel than the previous gen.

Unfortunately they seem to fit short. TW says the fit is true but not for me. Anyone else having an issue with the sizing?

how is the weight on these new barricades ? is it lighter than previous version ? certain sites have it as 0.6 oz Lighter .

feels light to me. despite the advice i grabbed a pair of the clay court soles and are working on breaking them in. low to the ground feel is nice and the uppers are soft none of that rubbery upper like before. hoping these work! the weight shouldnt be a concern though, pretty darn light even w an insole

Do you think it felt Lighter than previous version 2021 version ? or weight about the same ??

unfortunately i didnt use the ‘21 version. i do have 5 pairs of ubersonics though from that run - honestly cant tell the difference in weight comparing those to this new barricade.
I was in kswiss ultrashots for the past year - now that i can tell u for sure is much heavier on the foot running for a ball

Those new ones look an improvement on the upper, very similar looking style to the solematch court also. I am looking to get a pair of the ecru as they are on offer, I am apprehensive after reading the reviews, how do they size up for you compared to previous barricades? I had the adipower barricade 7 which were perfect for a couple of generations for me then the 2017 version came out and was too fitted in the upper and my toes felt more cramped in the upper of the toe box?

There's more room in the toe box in the updated version and generally the upper is more roomy imo.. so much so my feet slide inside of them when they don't at all in the prior ecru version I have. I blame that on the fact that they removed the elastic in the lacing system which provided a ton of lock down. Didn't have any achilles issues with either version. I've relegated the updated pair for doubles only. Jammed my toe into the front of the shoe once and got an ingrown toenail issue that has since resolved. I'm back in the VP1 for everything else since they got restocked recently.
