A local stringer has a production spec AG 4d 100 here to test and Iswubg by and got the specs, including measurements on his Babolat RDC machine this morning. Too much racquet for me, but I thought folks here might be interested:

Specs on throat: 90 sq in, 27 in, 63 stiffness, 330g, 320mm balance
Measured on RDC: 11.68oz strung, 8pt head light, 305 swingweight, 59 string stiffness

Dec 1 release w/ limited availability

That swingweight...

How can that be?

The specs on the spec label in the throat are always for UNSTRUNG. Here, the strung weight is the same as the unstrung weight (330g = 11.65g)?

I would LOVE IT if the unstrung weight was 330g because that would make the strung weight about 12.2 oz. Perfect! :)

Pics? And 11.68 oz is too light. I like the weight of the current 100, and maybe .2 oz more would be fine as well.

330 gram unstrung would make foe a great frame 330 strung- wimpy!

Another vote here.

I would love it at 345-350 grams strung and 320-325 sw.

With an early-Dec release date, perhaps it's not too late to adjust the specs??

Just slap on some lead :)
Normally I would, Bud. And I have tried..

I've just found the AG100 to be particularly tricky to weight up. I still haven't gotten mine right, so I'm hoping Dunlop will help out by distributing the additional weight throughout the frame, while keeping the 8 pts HL balance and the same stiffness.

It'll go a long way towards addressing concerns expressed by a fair number of people about the 100's ability to deal with heavy incoming balls -- which, in my opinion, is its only weakness.

That's the discouraging thing, isn't it--the only way to counter a heavy incoming ball is to have mass; and if you add mass to the AG100 (or any light racquet, for that matter), then you lose some of the qualities that make it special (maneuverability, etc).

It's really an unsolvable paradox. There's just no such thing as a highly maneuverable racquet that is heavy enough to easily deal with pace :)

Yes, that's the trade-off all right, Dave. I'm still hopeful, though, that Dunlop might be able to add some weight without destroying the 100's maneuverability altogether.

I wouldn't fuss so much except I really do think the 100 is an outstanding frame. Its performance has been optimized much as I think the best racing cars are painstakingly and beautifully fine-tuned. I'm just hoping there's another peak in its performance map -- at a higher static weight and sw.

Having hit with the AG100 and having ditched it only because of the reasons you talked about, I too am hopeful that they'll find that magic peak. I doubt it'll happen--but if they somehow manage it, I'll be right in line to try it out :)

What he said was that limited numbers would be available (in the U.S.) on December 1. Sorry, should have been clearer.

Oh, he also noted that the 4d200 Tour sample that he had wasn't the spec that they were going to release; they were in the middle of reworking it since the reaction to it from testers had been pretty poor.
