Anyone catch sight of the wimbledon shoe

I assume you don’t have the clay sole on your Res 7’s. That clay sole works great on Har-Tru courts.

I used to have clay shoes + hard shoes, but all too often I have no idea what surface I'll be playing league matches on until lineups are exchanged because many facilities have both.

Prefer to just have 1 awesome shoe, but you raise a good point that there will always be some compromise on the clays with all court shoes.

In the video around 2:15 when Michelle twists the shoe a bit, I notice quite a bit of plastic in there. My Gel Res 6 have some soft material in the middle upper and that feels good and comfortable.
My daughter uses Gel Res 7 and while that seems to have more plastic, when I feel them inside with my hand they also feel nice and soft. Just trying to see if there is any plasticy feel to these ?
The review praises these shoes, so I guess I might not see them on sale anytime soon :-( so it might be a moot point, but would be good to know.

I hated the Speed FFs because of the plasticky toe box, but I'm been playing with the Court FF2s for a while and the feeling goes away. It was only an issue for my right foot, around the big toe joint, when flexing a great deal (so imagine my right foot all the way back as I'm walking/running).

Perhaps this was addressed earlier (sorry, couldn't read all the messages), but I notice that with my left shoe, the rubber next to the inside of my foot buckles a little and rubs against my foot. It's by the ball of my foot or just a little bit behind this area. If anyone's experienced this, does it resolve after a while? I may go up half a size, but I doubt this will get rid of the problem altogether. My left foot is a little wider than my right, so while the right shoe feels perfect, the left shoe is slightly tight across the ball of my foot, so I'm wondering if the buckling is due to that. I don't get the buckling with the right shoe. I played for about an hour and my foot doesn't hurt, but it's kind of irritated in that area.

Three new Court FF2 colors showed up. Burgundy red, Blue similar to the original but with dark blue outsole instead of white and a white and black with orange outsole and some yellow accents. They all look very good in my opinion.

I don’t have a problem with the laces. The sock style upper locks your foot in place. The laces are not doing a lot of work. Mine are only loosely tied and they don’t come undone. They look and feel cheapish but it is not an issue for me.

You’re right, on second glance the blue is not the same as the AO version. Sucks.

The navy sole with the burgundy is a bit weird. I initially assumed the sole color to be black. Sucks.

Can you compare the FF with the FF2?

The FFs are harder to get in to and I think provide a better fit around the ankle and heal. In that sense, I like that part better...getting the shoe on was never a problem. The FF2 are more stable in the midfoot area. I do tend to slide on hard courts so this is probably helpful, but I didn't think the FF was lacking in stablility. The other issue I had was the clicking that the plastic made and its inflexibility are first...around the toe area. I hated it at first but it went away after awhile.

Do I like one over the over? I probably prefer the FF a bit more, but it's REALLY close. Comfort-wise, they are equivalent (comfort under the balls of my feet are important). I wish the FF2 were a bit cheaper, that's for sure.

Where are you seeing these new colors and will TW be getting of them? I really want a pair of the original blue/white but unless we get some of these new colors I may go with the women's since I like those colors best of what's available.

^ That color has been out in Canada for a while now, same for the green/white wimbly, and all blue/white versions. I have the new wimbly ones.

I got these shoes off the hype and initial fitting. They felt lighter than the gel res 7's I compared them too, a little less cushioning but the gel res 7 has heel slippage even with the last eyelet laced. I've heard that once the shoe flex breaks in they stop doing that but I didn't want to risk what happened with the gel res 6's....so I took a chance.

I've had the Court FF2 for about 3 weeks now and have played about 10 or more times with them, my experience with them has not been positive. First, the padded neoprene sock at the heel isn't padded enough, the plastic/rubber structure of the shoe digs into my foot. At first couple wears I developed a nasty blister on my inner right ankle. It's actually where the stitching is that binds the sock liner together, I guess they figured to put it in the inner ankles as that would be the safest bet but I'm rubbing right against it on directional cuts. I chalked it up to needing break in period, I also tried lacing from the first eyelet then the second eyelet to see if this changed things, no bueno. It's the lack of padding on the neoprene sock between the rubber/plastic structure hat digs into the foot on directional changes. About of 6-7 sessions later, my blister still hasn't healed because the shoe seems to do it no matter how loose or tight I lace the shoes or which eyelet I use, and out of nowhere the rear heel of my left foot develops a blister from the exact same reason. The lack of padding in the neoprene sock liner causes the shoes structure to rub off skin on the back of my heel. Now I have to say I played in them again the other night, after giving myself a couple days for the blisters to heel and callous over and they didn't form new blisters. I was hesitant in lacing them with security because I don't want that to happen again. I had them laced very loosely my last match, but due to this I felt heel slippage. I hope they haven't hit a plateau and continue to get softer.

Seeing as these are the most expensive shoes I've ever purchased I'm quite dissapointed. I know people complain about the cages being too tight to slip into, but tbh I might actually prefer that with the added ankle padding those have and not having to fuss about the lacing/blister situation. Right now they are not the shoes TW has hyped them up to be. Nothing noteable about its sliding/traction abilites, support, or perfect amount of give. I'll gladly update if the experience changes for the better.

I'll note, I'm 5'11" 145 lbs, not a heavy guy. I play aggresive tennis and slide in my shoes putting them through their paces, no particular quirks with my feet. They are medium width, standard arch, and that's it. Played in everything ranging from barricades, vapors, breathe free's, ballistics, to gel res iterations.

- Also the Court FF 2 do run half a size small. I'm a size 10.5 in Vapors, 10 in Gel resolution 7's and 9.5 in Court FF 2. I'm positive on the sizing of the court FF 2 for me, the toe box fit comfy and everything "fits" properly, its only when moving that all these problems arise.

if you drag the side of the toe you would have a lot of rubber to go through. Its pretty thick rubber.

These will last you for a while.. I prefer these over my adidas solecourt boost.. better durability and maneuverability !!

the sock liner isn't as plush/enveloping (much easier to slide on) and the all plastic uppers, which also detract from comfort, make it feel designed more for stability, durability, and extreme performance on hard courts. so far i think it's worth the trade-off as going through 3 pairs of FF1's every year due to the toe area wearing out so fast really sucked. FF1 with FF2 soles would be the perfect shoe for me.

I always wear a new tennis shoe as a casual walking shoe for at least a few days before playing in them.

I had a break in period also, took me 3-5 hours . At first it was really hard near the top lace but it eased in. I got the new blue Court FF2. No break in for me. I did slip a little when the plasticky part of the outsole caught the court. But it's since ground down a little and hasn't been an issue much.

I agree - on both counts. In addition, the upper is a bit stiff and “plastics” near the toes until it breaks in and softens up. It’s a great shoe, but it is different that the FF1. While I prefer it over the previous model, these issues are part of the design - as are the thin laces (that will not stay tied).

From a size point of view, they were a bit of a surprise to me. I've been wearing the Asics Speed Solution 2's for the last 4 years or so in a size 10.5(UK) which fit like a glove straight out of the box and were the best tennis shoes I've ever had. With these however, I ordered half a size down(10) as advised on here and I felt I had too much room in them, with the width being quite apparent(I've a medium width foot with a medium arch).
So decided to return them and getting the 9.5 instead. It has taken a bit of time to break in by walking around the house with them but now they feel pretty good. I haven't taken them out onto the court yet, so that will be the true test
