These are sick and have a lot of potential with colors. Although it does look like a basketball shoe, heavy at 14.3oz and seems like it will have good cushioning and support.

For me, I am not a fan of high tops. It felt weird around my ankles. Not breathable at all, typically I am not picky in this department but my feet were burning with this one. Also just felt bulky all around

they are complete tanks and the upper was so high cut and inflexible that it tore up my ankles. It just feels like a clunky basketball shoe trying to be passed off as a tennis shoe. I expect to see more sold to the streetwear crowd than serious players.

The Energy Arc, NB carbon plate system, definitely has potential but I would have rather seen it utilized in the new 996 or the next Lav. For me, it wasn’t enough to overcome the other inherent flaws in this shoe.

I agree with this and will add that it’s a high volume shoe with few eyelets for laces. The only way for me to get my narrower, low volume feet locked in at all was to cinch the upper collar laces really tight, the exact opposite of what I wanted to do since I didn’t want the high top to start with.

I’m hopeful the new 996 will be a better fit for me, somewhere between v3 and v4.

All I have to say is: I'm obsessed with these shoes.

I hated the Lav 2 and adore these. Like pry-them-off-my-feet-because-I-haven't-taken-them-off-since-I-got-them-obsessed.

I know they are legit, the women's heel collar just tore up EVERY part of my ankle and after 2 weeks of bloody socks and shoes, the break-in wasn't worth it for me (even with higher socks)

A majority of major injuries in basketball were people with Adidas: Tracy McGrady, Gilbert Arenas, Derrick Rose, and some others... but then I realized is it REALLY the shoe or the player? Some people are more prone, but in basketball players like James Harden and Damian Lillard who are known for their footwork and quickness have never had injuries. So I chalk it up to the players themselves lol.

Medvedev tore some Vapor X's a few years back, I believe. One shoe from one pair though, I don't think it was a persistent issue

Wow. I don’t play in the Lav 2s, either, but the break-in on these was quite a bit worse for me. It’s like they took the stiff, clunkiness of the Lav 2s and doubled down on it.

I was very concerned about this as well! Literally, NO ISSUES Slight break in but no toe-jamming, no rubbing!

I literally have worn them everywhere since I got them!

While I’m happy with my Yonex Eclipsion 4s, I caved and snagged a pair of the NYC colorway of the CG1s. Should come on Tuesday after Labor Day, will post reviews. Stock pics of it look bad, but they look good while actually watching Coco play. True unisex color IMO, as opposed to the white/pink ones.

In the video it is mentioned they have a carbon plate as is usual with high performance running shoes these days. I know there are shoes with large shanks and I believe Yonex also had very stiff shanks built in, but this NB sounds interesting

Lol! Nah, I just wore through em with how much I’ve been playing. Went through my Raptors about a month ago and couldn’t find them in my size . also ripped the upper in the B.Icons like everyone else did.The the Torneo’s… they’re just not the BS5’s man.
