New Barricades a Bust for me - Need advice

The new barricades just do not fit. It’s the heel, keeps riding up when I walk. I’ve used barricades for 10 years. So, I need some advice. My last pair was the barricade clubs in a size 8 &1/2. Any other shoe that compares well or even better? K Swiss or ASICS maybe?

I haven't tried the new barricades but I own the 6,7,8, 2015, and 2017 models and I now wear the ASICS gel resolution 8. I find the cushioning to be as good as the barricades with boost and the durability is on point. Definitely worth a try, especially since it has a 6 month warranty

I think the barricades are fundamentally flawed.
  • The heel tab is too high and stiff. (Look at every other sports shoe and you will see care taken not to apply pressure on the achilles tendon.)
  • Using "foam pods" seems to be an excuse to make the rest of the ankle collar stiff and uncomfortable
  • There is little to no breathability so sweaty feet quickly start to rub against the "foam pods" anyway
  • The lacing system uses elasticated tabs so it's near impossible to get the laces tight (and stay tight)
  • There is basically zero forefoot cushioning if you use thinner aftermarket insoles.

There are some positives though
  • The stock insoles are better than most
  • They are incredibly stable
  • The soles are probably the best I've used on wet hard courts
  • I personally like the look of them

Res 8 in comparison I think does everything better apart from the lateral stability

GR8 is probably your best bet. Maybe another high stability option like the Lav v2 or VC4. Wish they could bring the Barricade 7 back :(

The barricade 2018 was super good aside from the midfoot shank. Very comfortable and had no issues. This one can feel odd sometimes.

Is it the tabs or shoelaces? I did replace the shoelaces with shorter ones and they lock down very well. The replacement laces are the typical Kwik or whatever brand you get from Target.

Best shoe that adi has rn for me is the Solematch bounce. The ubersonic 4's last a month; and the solecourt boost, although good, it's very heavy because of the boost. Solematch is the best since it's sort of in the middle.

The tabs (the laces are crazy long though!):

I found the barricade to be the best shoe I've used. I had many problems with 2018, and the new version fixed all of them. The lateral stability is top-notch and the comfort is good. The one knock I would have would be the laces seem to rip out of the shoe and if you have an excessive slider so you need to make your own eyelet.
